I love the legal defense of "if SHE gets healthcare for this ARBITRARILY EXCLUDED REASON, then OTHER PEOPLE will demand to get healthcare for OTHER ARBITRARILY EXCLUDED REASONS!!!"

I'm going to guess they also claim to be "pro-life" while denying Healthcare coverage

I think their plan is to take it to the Supreme Court in the hope that the now conservative majority will reverse their previous ruling (as they did with Roe) and allow employers nationwide to deny gender affirming care. Thats why they're willing to spend so much money. They're playing the long game, thats how much they hate trans people.

Let me start with I’m not a a lawyer and could be wrong. And don’t be lazy and downvote me, challenge me on this. Conservative lawyers got Roe V. Wade overturned because there was no actual law. But the good news is they gave the blueprint on how to beat them going forward. When there’s no federal law in place the current SCOTUS will always go with “state rights.” If lawyers go at this as if it’s about trans rights, they’ll lose. If they make it about the law, they got a chance to win.

It's what religion is. They claim the proof of their god in the universe is all around, yet they have to fund-raise and subject their kids to early and frequent indoctrination. We know that wind and roads are all around in our lives, so it would be a waste for anyone to try and get people to pay 10% of their wages every week to hear someone indoctrinate their kids that they'll be tortured for eternity if they don't believe streets and breezes are real.

They've now spent 3 times their budget, demonstrating gross dereliction of duty, and have cause to be removed from office.

It's not about the money. It's about the hatred...

After all, it’s not like it’s the politicians that have to pay it personally. It’s the tax payer people that’s on the hook for it.

Last week the UN called us out for shit like this. They accused America of violating international humanitarian law.

I'm waiting for the announcement that because they spent so much money on this, they have to close down all but one polling place in the county, and it will only have two booths.

Why are these Republicans so bad with money?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this issue about not covering transition surgery, not covering the hormone maintenance and associated care, or is it just all-encompassing for all trans people regardless?

Maybe this could be how we bankrupt/break this counties? Let the apologists now roll in saying that’s not a good idea because…..

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

For starters, you can't really bankrupt a government entity. And second, that cost just gets passed onto the citizens in the form of increased taxes and/or reduced services. And third, bankrupting the county wouldn't actually accomplish anything anyway.

Very appropriate with the secretary bird, both the female and the male looks very flamboyant with the big feather plume on their heads.

"Don't tread on me, *or* I'll tread all over you!"

That implies its retribution when it's not. No one treaded on them but they're treading on lots of people

I was going in the opposite direction, but yeah, that makes sense.
