12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This Leopard is surprisingly easily spotted.

11 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 0

Despite what your eyes tell you, don't stroke that inviting stomach - it's a trap

oooh okay I didn't see those posts. Funny, I was wondering how Leopards hunted porcupines after googling them and seeing they ate them

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

God I hope so! More wild big cats, please!

12 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

This leopard ate too much pregnant?! Wat?

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

THAT MEANS THERE WILL BE KITTENS! You must follow it and take many adorable pictures and not get eaten, at least until you upload!

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This pregnant ate too much lunch

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah her ankles do look a little swollen

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Either way, it probably ate too much

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A lot of the big cats have a specialised slit running from their sternum down to their groin. It expands hugely to fill with food. This 1/2

12 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

cat is probably pregnant. But the big cats can absolutely stuff themselves that full. As their metabolisms are very fast because they are2/3

12 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

carnivores - and they convert the majority of what they eat in to energy unlike omni or herbivores.

12 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

(I've watched some big cat autopsies, and a lot of biology stuff :P But I don't know for certain if a leopard has this feature!)

12 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yeah well I've eaten at a buffet before so I can totally vouch for the expanded food pouch.

12 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I am no stomachologist so I'll believe what ever you just said.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BABIES

12 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

i thought this too. it seems unnatural for animals to overindulge to that extent.

12 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 10

It's interesting that a lot of the behaviors people think are abnormal about humans are completely unremarkable. Overheating and sadism are

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The two mos prominent examples of completely natural behavior that we somehow think of as uniquely human.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How common is sadism in nature? Dolphins and cats are guilty for sure, but can't think of others.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not positive, but I think big cats often gorge. Especially when hunting is so hit and miss.

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Animals do it all the time. It's where the expression "wolfing it down" comes from.

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Big cats do this. They don't always eat. Sometimes go over a week without eating. So they eat until their stomach looks like it will explode

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I work in a sushi restaurant and we offer AYCE at some days. It's unnatural how much some people eat ...

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hehe. are we conditioned differently though?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You clearly haven't been to a Hometown Buffet...

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

is that where leopards normally feast?

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

as an aussie, I'm not sure i'll have the chance to witness such an occasion. :)

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You do if you're a carnivore that doesn't get to eat every day. They eats until they can't eats no more.

12 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Yeah, many of them eat once a week or less. Worse in bad seasons or if they're injured. They find food, they gorge.

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thats what I thought, also.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i was wondering this also. thanks for the educations. must research further.

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wild big cats do this. Not sure about Zoo ones. They sometimes go over a week without eating because their food migrates to greener pastures

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or maybe it's anal hentai aliens eggs about ready to hatch?

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

this, i definitely did not consider.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Leopards catch their prey, hang them in trees &let them rot. Then go to town on the rotten carcass. His tummy is full of rotten meat :P

12 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 44

Talk about death breath..

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

they don't like rotten meat, they keep their prey in the trees so other animals can't get to it. Once it's rotten, they stop eating it.

12 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

Thank you. The misinformation was gonna bug me if no one else said this. c:

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine the deadly farts...

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They primary carry their prey into trees so lions and hyenas cant steal it from them during their meal.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This also describes mom's cooking

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

themoreyouknow.gif +1

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/leopard/ wrong its to keep them away from other animals

12 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Of course it's to keep it away from other animals - the tree is the leopards pantry! I thought was kind of obvious :P

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

But it's not to let them rot, that's his point... leopards aren't scavengers so they don't eat rotten meat. They hunt live prey.

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They do this because they can't run from threats after eating so they.. um.. be fat in the tree safe from harm

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's so cute and gross :)

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

This is false.

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Leopards are my spirit animal.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

mmmm I want some steak now

12 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Steak tartar sounds so good now...danmit!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

God so do I - a nice 4-6cm thick 500g eye fillet seared and then baked served with stupidly hot mustard and crispy thick fries.

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

So that's what happened to that porcupine..

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

why do they let them rot

12 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

They don't.

12 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Maybe they're just trying to let it dry in the sun because they like jerky, but in a tree to protect it from others stealing it.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Fermentation perhaps?

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

So you are saying he is not only stuffed, but also drunk. *looks back up at picture* ...Checks out.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RUMM HAMMMM!!

12 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It's not rotten, the meat gets tender as it gets older. We do it too with deer and gamebirds.
