Am so tired with the wall-to-wall attention this whole criminal enterprise is getting as it starts its legally-sanctioned rampage.
I've been taking refuge in watching documentaries and lectures about dinosaurs for the past week because at least that's fun and there's been no political talk involved.
Surely I'm not the only one with favorite dinosaurs even as an adult? Tell me yours!
Mine: as pictured, Brachiosaurus has been one of my favorites for most of my life. I'm not sure why, other than contrarianism (everyone else seemed to love Stegosaurus, T-Rex, Triceratops or Brontosaurus before we found out brontosaurus doesn't actually exist. So I picked Brachiosaurus and fell in love with it.)
Another favorite: Leaellynasaura (which I still struggle to spell) from when I was first exposed to "Walking With Dinosaurs" (BBC, 1999), they are the stars of the fifth episode and I fell in love with their cute little faces. Shout-out to Muttaburrasaurus from the same episode.

Carnotaurus, like a T-Rex with devil horns.

The T-Rex that ate the scummy lawyer in the original Jurassic Park.

Spinosaurus!
(Which my spell check auto corrects to tyrannosaurus....)
tmood
Dimetrodon, not technically a dinosaur but only because it predates them.
manwholivesinthewoods
Plateosaurus. Love the Prosauropods.

I was pretty fascinated with the liopleurodon for a while, but all dinos are equally cool

Yep, imgur is going to suck. Another 3 years of constant posts about trump and repeating the same lame catchphrases. I'm already getting annoyed with the overuse of leapords eating faces on even the most trivial things. Pterodactyl

I liked diplodocus. Anything big enough to stomp on anyone mean to me was aces in my book.

Brontosaurus actually does exist as a recognized species by most paleontologists, and has since a 2015 study concluded they were different enough to warrant it. But it's not like brontosaurs ceased to exist in the intervening period; they were just placed under a different name.
sirbartonslady
Yeah I learned that watching stuff this past week, so again misinformation had struck, telling me it didn't exist then turns out it was just another name for an already-existing dino. Still, Brachiosaurus is still my bae and I'm still not sure why.
DoseOfScience
Ankliosaurus for some reason.
piratejimthedagger
Is it the massive fucking club tail and armour? That's my reason.

I don't really do favourites, but I do think dinosaurs are freaking awesome.
Tbh I'm a big fan of the giant insects of the carboniferous period, and permean too.

While Stegosaurus with its Thagomizer is tempting, I do like a good Triceratops. I got a Triceratops Transformer during a trip to Hawaii and played with that thing the whole time..

Brontosaurs did exist. It is my favorite. Triceratops might not, though: https://www.livescience.com/17488-triceratops-species-development.html

My favorite story is How Gary Larson made that joke in the far side comic, and then actual dinosaur scientists cited him in their paper, and so now that's the official name for that appendage

I’ve been thinking about maiasaura recently. They had such a brilliant illustration in the dinosaur book I had as a kid.

As a kid I of course liked all dinosaurs, but I was taken with ultrasaurus because, you know, cool name and gigantic. But apparently the accounts I read didn't cover the naming issues (even though those happened before I was born! ), so apparently I should've been thinking "supersaurus." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasaurus

I am a Bronto guy from way back.

Velociraptor. Also, ignorance is what got us in this mess. Continued ignorance certainly won't be what gets us out.
