It was a great end to Connery's Bond.
PedroBenecol
ngl, this movie, in a theater, was a hoot.
aShogunNamedMarcus
Rumor has it that this and Con Air are finally coming to 4K this year. Both are day 1 buys for me.
Guantanamobaae
I saw the movie before I ever took a tour of Alcatraz. I gotta say I was disappointed that the prison didn’t look like the movie but I loved that movie.

Man, I forgot how stacked the cast was. Might be time for a rewatch.

The good michael bay movie

My first blockbuster. I was 11, truly the pinnacle of spectacle for me by then.

John Mason is actually James Bond. Think about it.

Was wondering if anyone was gonna link that fan theory. Always liked that one.

Such a great movie! One of my all-time favorites from the 90's.

I saw this and thought it was moderately good. I remember the sound mastery being quite good.

Having just watched Spider Noir and seeing Cage in these pics reminds me...
PresldentClef
I am actually very happy as an old person to see Spider Noir. Hah.
ThatGuyFromJustSouthOfTheMiddleOfNowhere
It was better than I'd expected and a different road for Cage. Not sure how much the 30's period setting will go with younger folks. But as a new addition to the spiderverse, I'm looking forward to new episodes
BastardMan1977
I saw it opening night
JapanesePizza333
I saw it in theater and was exposed to tuberculosis. Dodged it!
Tekktokk
my sister and her friends snuck me in! I was 15 and it felt very cool.

What a coincidence, watching it right now lol.

How in the name of Zeus's butthole did you get out of your cell?

You need the Nic Cage emphasis: How in the name ... of ... ****ZEUS' BUTTHOLE**** ... did you get out of your cell?

"How do like how THAT shit works?!"

This movie is 100% a bond film.

Huh, I did not know this was a Michael Bay movie (had no idea who he was when I watched it and cared even less about directors than I do now), but in hindsight I can totally see it.

I did not need this in order to feel old today. But, there it is

Heh, just watched this last week with my daughters. Still an Awesome movie!

Batman arguing with Hicks.
MartianWeasel
When did Ed Harris play Batman?
hyjukilo
Never. I fucked up with thinking the actor was Michael Keaton, not Ed Harris.
Raventhief
I feel like the best parts of this movie were in the first third when Connery escapes the FBI. The rest is fine, but not terribly original.

How's your bowling arm?
PresldentClef
The death of the 'villain' was appropriately tragic methinks.
ChazzK
"Look, shon, at my age, and with my experience, I only have sho many fucksh left to give. You keep pushing me at thish pace, you're only gonna have about a half hour of worthwhile film in you, and *points at Nic* THAT one ishn't helping."
VikingsAreNinjaPirates
I still marvel at the idea that this is a turn-your-brain-off popcorn action film, but it has one of the most compelling and sympathetic villains of all time. Dude is just trying to get money to the families of dead Special Ops people who's missions were too classified to admit they took place.
Jewdakris
Of course he's sympathetic. We watch known military members get shafted with benefits, let alone to disavowed who died in secret who the govt definitely fucks over as hard as possible. It's a joke that we have weapons for bombs and guns but never to take care of the people who defend the country because they don't exist on the stock market but bombs and guns do.
ForceAwakenWasLame
Great villains are always believable. Team Thanos here
Tomigami
Thanos had decent motivation, but he was a megalomaniac. He became obsessed with the concept of balance and survival of the fittest, letting it blind him to the evil of the means he pursued to justify those ends.
By forcing balance, he created chaos; by causing chaos, he upended ecosystems that would otherwise allow the fittest (i.e., the best fit for the environment) to survive. For all that, he was a great villain.

Trade secrets, my son
Perkunas687
I've been saying this for days (my wife was like, 'can you stop?'). We adopted a kitten named Stanley so I gave him the last name Goodspeed, then watched The Rock for the umpteenth time. Then, decided to make a gif album of the movie: /a/0maa2C8 In honor of feline Stanley Goodspeed!

What a coincidence, I just watched another Sean Connery movie this weekend!
IliveIdyeIliveagain
I watched The Rock last week
Septcanmat
Do you watch every movie on RLM BotW or was that just a coincidence?
TheBigBadBonerBiter
This one was on the radar of my consciousness for about a decade, though I admit the recent BotW was what motivated me to actually sit down and watch it.
EroticZombiePants
He came out of retirement just to voice this movie. Apparently, he did it as a personal favor to the directors. No word if it was actually blackmail.
TheBigBadBonerBiter
I read a while ago part of it was that it was Scotland's first computer animated major picture and he wanted to be a part of it. Say what you will about the end result, but there's something admirable about that.
