What was the duck's anus screaming at the end there?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So it turns out David Lynch has just been and AI this whole time…

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This should be mandatory viewing in every high school in America. The decrease in drinking/duck related deaths would be incomprehensible.

3 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 1

Excellent word choice

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’m pretty sure this short film breached the “incomprehensible“ barrier already.

Incalculable even

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Inconceivable!

I’m not sure that word means what you think it means. By the way, are those 6 fingers on your hand?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly I love this kind of stuff. Surrealism is an art form for humans. For AI it's its starting point.

Do you not?

Turns out you can make movies of my dreams

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was going to have a drink and drive a long way but the thought of me hitting a duck has made me think once about it. Not twice, just the once. I have seen the error of my waze.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is the future we've all dreamed of. What a time to be alive.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, we're totally ready to fire artists and replace all their shit with AI. Executives will make billions!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh I'd say let AI rule the world. Can it get worse

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

YES.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well. That was disturbing.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Honestly? I dig it.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

hell yeah. i just got done writing a hallucination sequence for a book and this is how i would want it to be portrayed in a movie

It's like a damn acid trip!

I can have one beer. Who's gonna know? THE DUCKS, that's who.

Reminds me of the speech from the movie "The FP"... "What's a town without ducks, man? A town without ducks is NOTHING!"

Watched Twilight w gf at time, couldn't stop yelling "POMPADORE!" whenever vampy guy popped up

And that is why she is an ex.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

No, it's because she didnt do shit. I worked, i cooked, i cleaned. She just made every little thing in life be the end of the world

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I recently rewatched the last two Twilight movies and like... They aren't even that bad. They aren't "good" but they were fine. As young adults we really wasted a lot of energy hating some movies whose main sin is that girls liked them.

breakdancing SCP but the emphasis is on "break"

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where did you even find this

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hell, I'm guessing.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

“I think AI is finally ready to replace Hollywood writers!” - a movie exec probably

3 years ago | Likes 791 Dislikes 5

Real talk, the current level of AI video generation could be pretty effective for dreamlike/hallucinatory video effects. Kinda like the Dr Strange out-of-body experience scene.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Still a better plot than Transformers, FuriousFast etc :D

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 7

Now that you said the words and it's on the internet, there's a Universal exec somewhere web crawling and he will find it. He'll find the text. He'll find yours! And others! And, and, the cat's texts! He'll buy a new golf course while super psyched that his movie idea is going to be the most cost-effective one ever! What have you done man! Think of the billboards!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it turns out like this I'd totally watch it.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know if you have seen any Transformers movies lately, but...

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You joke but this is unironically better than a lot of high budget shit Hollywood has put out

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Nvidia shares 📈 no wait, it’s upside down 📉

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We are probably only a few years from you telling an AI which book you want turned into a movie and picking the cast and having it done in a few mins

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At the beginning of the year even this much was unexpected, shits exponential growth. This time next year, who knows how it'll be.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Looking at this, it could be used as the third part of Twin Peaks.. its as weird as the second part..

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was a more coherent movie than some of the shit Disney has put out recently.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe not replace writers, but imagine inception but the dream vfx are AI generated.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

https://www.twitch.tv/trumporbiden2024 okay but some applications are gold

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Just barely a year ago all we had was wonky, unrecognizable pixeljunk images generated by AI. Give it a couple more years and you'll sit in a cinema watching a blockbuster made by an AI.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The new marvel show secret invasion uses AI generated opener. Though the context of the show makes it more acceptable.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

In all honesty a feature length movie with a super serious plot but with video generated by AI would probably be hilarious.

3 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 4

Bite your fucking tongue! This is even worse that reality TV and that is a pretty low bar to crawl under.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How serious? "Lord of the Rings" serious?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Worth a watch. But then 2 years later everyone else will make the same b to c class movie in the same fashion until the genius who makes it good shows up

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For 10 minutes... at which point you realise there's still at least 80 minutes to go and you turn it off :)

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

No no, when there's 80m left you light that next blunt.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I would probably watch an hour of this though: https://youtu.be/WgREV-fPXE0

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, at that point at least go and watch a good movie that looks like this, like "A Scanner Darkly" or "Waking Life" or something...

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Waking life is so great… like the movie that is

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love scanner

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably give it 5 years or less, it needs time to learn and it’s learning faster than humans. But the creation, I think will lack of something that only human brain could create.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

It's really not, if you look at their actual output. The only thing improving is people's understanding of what prompts, limiters, and positive-attributes to reinforce, and that's already starting to plateau. This tech is a novelty, especially in it's implementation, but as it stands currently it's not actually going to be a *real* gamechanger for quite a while. It's already blatantly obvious to see AI generated content, and it by-and-large looks pretty awful on any sort of close inspection

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's because it isn't actually intelligent, it's just a really fancy autocorrect. It isn't data or skynet learning how to paint.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hey! I find that offensive

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna call Sarah Conner. You will be terminated soon.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry skynet, I figured you didn't want to be lumped in with chatgpt

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Correct, yet any 'fancy auto correct system' that can learn, weather AI or life on earth through DNA can very well end up sentient. And this is getting more complex every day. What is currently impossible, could theoretically become probable overnight, when dealing with something as powerful as the capacity to learn.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

It isn't learning in that way. You need to look at the actual engineering and not the pitches from the creators. It "learns" by getting a bigger library of stuff to steal from and "learns" to make better art product by us eliminating it's ability to produce stuff we don't want or like from it's output. It makes no decisions, it does not have the capability to make decisions of any kind; it is a complicated flowchart. AI is a misnomer and a name for marketing.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not sure how that's entirely different from how humans "learn." And neuroscience isn't even convinced that humans make their own decisions the way we believe we do.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

To add: It's closer to a statistical model than a human being. It "learns" by randomly changing values, producing a result, and then comparing to the real thing. It does not understand the data, words, or subject. It only calculates based on a group of nodes making decisions. Media Companies are eager to make AI a reality as they can feed any IP protected work they don't own into it in order to produce a legally distinct identical copy within minutes. Meaning they never have to pay the authors

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am not thinking about it that way, I am thinking more about how life first occurred in general. We started as simple proteins that "learned" by getting a bigger library of stuff to steal from (gaining complexity through luck and the primordial oceans) and "learned" to make better survival choices by eliminating out ability to mutate in ways we didn't like (that were detrimental to continued survival). We made no decisions of any kind, we were a complicated flowchart. We were not intelligent...
