Not sure what point Matt is trying to make here.

Gotcha! Oh, wait....who are you?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if it was him, a tweet form 6 years ago is not really relevant to these events..

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

aside from it not even being the same guy, those positions agree. Counteracting gerrymandering and wanting no gerrymandering are pretty much in agreement

2 months ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 0

And pretty sure BTC does agree with most of those positions but until such time as we have them...

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Anyone would have made that mistake! They both have 'yle' in their names.

The lesson here is: blue states, don't even ask permission, just fuck over the red districts. The bullshit red states aren't getting in trouble for just jamming it down their citizens' throats. If a court is going to be picky about how you go about getting votes on the issue, then do what they do and skip the voting.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For a second there, I thought I was missing something. They aren't even the same person.
Then I realize I'm not a stupid MAGA, and that's why I was confused.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if it was him... Okay?... Yeah there should be safe and equal elections. Republicans decided we can't, so we need to fight back. I don't see the contradiction.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

There isn’t one. Matt is just acting in bad faith, as is typical of nazis.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

346 hearts (or whatever twits you call them)

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Regardless if it was him, it still isn't contradictory. I would LOVE if there were no gerrymandering. But since Republicans are on a gerrymandering war against democracy, the only way to combat it is to gerrymander to counter it.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Both are great channels, but Kyle definitely gets a lot more heated

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kyle is not Brian. Got it.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That ss tweet is from 2020 how did he dig that far to be that wrong

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

File this one under "Great Moments in Horseshoe Theory"

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

One CAN be fully in favor of eliminating gerrymandering AND recognizing that, until it is banned, we need to fight fire with fire. Or better, fight fire with hellfire missiles.

I'm pretty sure that that's BTC's position too.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Old Democrats suck and need to leave. The only way to get rid of them is to vote Republican and no one wants to be that stupid. We are stuck until the dinosaurs die off.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if that was him, no gerrymandering kind of goes in with the rest of the list. Gerrymandering will ALWAYS happen if it’s a winner takes all system by county. Not even a gotcha if it was his post.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never mistake a jester for the King.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Democrats arent going to fight back. They are worthless.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Well that's a first for me. Good response.

I mean, if you're unsure, it's always good to ask, that poor brainless thing might have gone the rest of his life thinking (well... not thinking...) that might have been him

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Like, was it a bot dreaming shit or just a magat moron mistaking one white guy for another?

Either way - it ain't even close

To be completely fair, they are both YouTubers with huge audiences focused on pushing progressive leftist ideologies and holding the right legally accountable. Between those two, vaush, and Hasan piker, that's pretty well the bastion of leftist independent media.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

No, actually, I won't be fair to the little fucker, sorry xD

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fair if you have ever interacted with a MAGA they are kind of just bots.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BTC is also full of shit. If you haven't heard them it's because you haven't listened.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Matt’s a twat. Yes, he wants no gerrymandering, as most reasonable people do. But if the republicans are gonna cheat, the options are; fight back, or roll over and die.

2 months ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 0

When one side is consistently cheating, you don't make the fight fair by playing fair.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not even that, the dude just straight up quoted a different person thinking it's the person they're replying to.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's fighting fire with fire.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Gerrymandering can be an important tool to smooth over inequalities in representation, but we only ever see hyperpartisan shit in America so it always feels awful when it happens here

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Boy it would be really cool if Dems would stop choosing the latter option

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In a perfect world fighting fair would be rewarded, in real life it leaves you without power when you fight against people with no regards for fairness.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can be a pacifist and still knock someone's teeth out of his mouth if he hits you unprevoked... Or at least that is what I live by.

2 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 3

You literally cannot.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 19

Pacifism comes in many different flavors. Not all of them are “lay down and die.”

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Do no harm, take no shit

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

you can only be peaceful if you are capable of great harm. otherwise you would just be harmless.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m curious what exactly NCLB has to do with this…

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

NCLB has been a net negtive of US education system as well as create a system that beneits from schools pushing student through even when they probably should have been held back

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Except it didn’t actually do that, at all… quite the opposite, in fact.

NCLB required standardized testing specifically so schools couldn’t use ad-hoc rubrics to raise their pass rates. It also prohibited averaging scores, so schools had to also improve traditionally-underserved groups, as well.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

It's a sort of "it sounds good but also did bad but also did good" thing

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

The worst thing NCLB did was show that government control of education was measurably better than leaving curriculum choices to local school boards and PTAs.

A lot of people got angry with that, for some reason.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

lol his confusion. At least he’s honest that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and hasn’t realized how much his views changed over time simply due to the administration’s political party

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 22

you are just as smart as the second guy.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's literally not him

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This you?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

but it isn't him

2 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

In 2021, the Democrats introduced legislation that would have banned Gerrymandering, nationwide.... the Republicans killed it.

2 months ago | Likes 513 Dislikes 0

Every Democrat voted for it, every Republican voted against it.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Of course else they wouldn’t win

2 months ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 0

Wait, you can’t gerrymander the republicans out of office. That would be bad for us
-GOP probably

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The supreme Court also struck down related stuff bc John Roberts said math was hard (the math was actually very simple)

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes, fascism loves inequity

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Shit’s broken

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's not pretend the republicans are the only ones gerrymandering. I mean, have you seen the current Illinois congressional district map, and the lengths they went to eliminate republican majority districts in 2023?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Let's not pretend the GOP isn't FAR guiltier of partisan gerrymandering than Dems. This whole race to the bottom was brought on by the rump, and hopefully to his demise this fall. You still supporting that traitor? Idiot.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I will note, you don't see the Democrats Gerrymandering to deny representation to minority groups.... (at least not since the 1960s, peri-party flip).

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Who said that only Republicans were Gerrymandering? I said only the Democrats introduced a bill to ban it.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yeah, but a reminder it really only takes 50 votes to pass that, which they had.

The democrats aren’t really the good guy so long as they support the filibuster. You name it, universal healthcare, high speed rail, minimum wage, maximum wage, green new deal, red flag laws, voting rights, women’s rights, gay rights, trans rights, anything that doesn’t require a constitutional amendment is something the Dems could’ve done under both Obama and Biden and chose not to 🤷🏻

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Well that is a thing that is half true.

You still need 60 votes to close debate and move onto a vote... so it only takes a very few to block any action in the Senate.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That rule is not in the Constitution. The Senate could throw that rule out anytime they want.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

They could and then we would become the tyranny of the majority... cuz, if there was no filibuster, the Republicans would have voted away social security, Medicare, Medicaid and increased defense spending to $2T.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

No actually, it takes 50 to get rid of the filibuster. So it takes 60 to end the discussion… as long as you aren’t willing to remove the filibuster and make everything only need 50. It’s basically a gentleman’s agreement to not have anything happen out side of the few things you can do in reconciliation

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny how the Republicans are always in charge regardless of whether they're in the majority.

2 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

It's always easier to break things or do nothing than it is to get things done.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you hear of the ratchet effect? In essence it postulates that when Democrats are in power, rather than “undoing” or making meaningful progress on things we actually need, they merely halt the progression of Republican policies.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That's not what the ratchet effect it. The ratchet allows movement to the right and blocks movement to the left.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aren’t we functionally saying the same thing here?

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I misread your point originally.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the frustration of checks and balances. They're needed, but also easy to weaponize by bad parties to cripple the government. They stop the unchecked growth of a heavy handed government... but also make it possible for a wealthy minority to handicap that government's ability to help it's people or hold the upper class responsible. Both motives can be argued when it comes to the founding father depending on the man.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

"They stop the unchecked growth of a heavy handed government"

Do they, though? Because it sure seems like they don't do that well at it of late.

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

No, they really don't. They actually make it easier thanks to the fundamental, hierarchical nature of our government to have a heavy handed government take power.

People need to read David Graeber and Kropotkin.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And that sort of "we tried and failed a few years ago" followed by deafening nothing, even as the situation changes, is exactly on brand for Democrats.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How dare the Democrats, who control no branch of govt or their legislative agendas, not be passing legislation!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Insane how the republicans consistently manage to get their agenda passed no matter who is in charge though. Do they not know about the Parliamentarian?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sort of "there's nothing we can do" while ignoring that they said in 2021 and the Democrats had several years of control of branches of government since then is also very on brand for Democrats.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

'Several Years'

They had two.... and in those two years, their razor thin majority in the Senate was composed of Manchin and Sinema.... who, voted against every progressive bill introduced (remember Sinema's little curtsy when she killed the minimum wage increase?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Thats the intended result of vote blue no matter who. No ideology, no shared beliefs, just blue team vs red team all playing the same game for the same people

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

An astute observes might note what I said then remember that Biden controlled the executive branch. Weird how the GQP can get stuff done with thin majorities or just by having the WH, but Dems can't gosh darn it. Also, the hilarious whoopsy that the DNC keeps supporting candidates opposed to the party while fighting progressives tooth and nail- shucks and darn again.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Republicans or Sinema and Manchin voting against it?

2 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

Yes they voted against it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_the_People_Act

And there's more bullshit to come: https://www.techdirt.com/2026/05/12/supreme-court-breaks
-another-election-to-make-sure-black-voters-are-disenfranchised

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, both, right? Just bc Sinema and Manchin are fuck heads doesn't absolve the Repubs from their shitty decisions, too.

2 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

Of course

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No one is making excuses for Republicans. They're obviously and openly our enemy. It's those POSING as our allies that we're criticizing.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yes

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Isn't that convenient? It appears that Dems always have just enough detractors to kill a popular piece of legislation. Surely that's not on purpose...surely.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Dems from heavy red areas tend to be way more conservative than those from safer blue states.
Purple state dems are almost always boat anchors.
Or like Sinema and that ogre from PN, they run as progressives and swap over once they are in office. But because the senate has 6 year terms and recalls are hard, they live it up and then exit into C Suite jobs after.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You don't find it odd that the Democratic party allows them to be associated with the party when they clearly don't uphold the perceived values of the party? You have to realize they're not our allies, right?

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It is more a condemnation of our two party system. The country is too big and too populous to be accurately represented by two parties.
We need a full EU style parliament and multiparty systems to get closer to real democracy.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, a paranoid person might think it is by design... same reason they always find a handful of Dems to vote to break a filibuster that was stopping Republicans from being terrorists.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

not really, it's a pain in the ass that huge swathes of voters across the country are conservative voters.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yet Dems always have those among their ranks who will flip to ensure a popular bill dies or an unpopular bill passes. Republicans are obviously the enemy, but our so-called allies appear to be helping them.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Like I said, huge swathes of conservative voters. A WV Dem is not the same as a NY Dem that's not the same as a NV Dem, not the same as a OH dem, etc etc etc. Further you get from the coastal metros, the more conservative those voters get, esp in R lead states where education systems were destroyed. You don't have allies, you have a different group of voters that have the same party name as you that if you try hard you might convince to see things your way.
