Glitch in the matrix! It swaps sides. You can't tell me that a fucking giant mountain can be on the left side in the first shot then the right side in the second shot. The architect accidentally swapped a 1 for a 0. This proves that the moon landing was fake and the earth is flat.

The giant mountain in #1 is El Capitan. Half Dome Rock can be seen in the distance, up the valley. #2 is a closer shot of Half Dome.

One of my favorite parks in the americas. I used to live near another Granite monolith in Squamish 3/4 of a mile away. I don't think I'll ever go back because it's so busy

We really lucked out last year when we visited. The first day at Yosemite was chilly, but beautiful. The second day was full-on winter wonderland.

Yosemite is named after my tribe. The history and tale is pretty crazy.
The name came after a chief of the Ah-Wah-Nee, a southern tribe of the Miwok people.
He was renamed Yosemite after killing a grizzly with an oak club.
According to the tale, he was on his way to fish when he came across a Grizzly bear, Knowing the danger and having no weapon, He grabbed a nearby log and attacked and killed the bear.
He was renamed to Yosemite to honor the feat. My fucking tribe! MINE! FUCK YEAH!

As far as I was told growing up, yes it means Bear killer, or those who kill bear.
The land was named as such, for the same reason many places in America are named after something Native American.
Sequoia is Cherokee, Utah is Ute Indians
Dakota is from the great Dakota/Lakota plains people.
All across the nation are examples of Native American names used to represent the people who lived in the area.
After this feat, the Ah-wah-nee renamed to Yosemite.
The place is named for the people.
