There are plenty of historical swords that have handles like that. Gloves like make the ridges less impactful feeling wise, but give more surface area for better grip.
As far as fantasy weapons go it's pretty tame, which I personally think makes the art a lot cooler. Hits the sweet spot of being an interesting design without stretching disbelief too much. I'd just say the guard needs to be a tiny bit longer so it doesn't look like it's gonna stab the user in the finger.
Bold of you to assume that the sword with a glowing red edge and a hilt and guard made of bones isn't fueled by blood, either those cut down or the wielder's.

The handle seems somewhat uncomfortable. But as a drawing it is impressive, As a weapon? not quite so much. Still, probably better than I could draw.
