We don't get much thunder in the Pacifc Northwest

But when we do, my dog freaks out.

I had a Jack Russell Terrier with the same issue. They do that panting thing because they're that scared. And he'd tremble something awful.

If you console them, it reaffirms their belief that it's something to be afraid of.

That storm was crazy loud where I lived. It always sucks to see you pets afraid but you can't make the bad go away.

But when we do, it's really far away and super quiet, and we still all go "OMG DID YOU HEAR THAT?!"

Ah, I wasn't aware. I suppose where I am then, in PNW we don't get much thunder. I only remember two times in the 5 years I've been here.

The PNW is very geographically diverse. So I can see why you came to that conclusion. Most people don't know about the desert in central WA.
