WE DID IT! We are both so damn tired and we still have to unpack the truck but I am so grateful to everyone who helped make this happen! We had some problems like being screwed over by Budget Trucks, they closed an hour before our pick up time and if you’re labeled as a no show etc then they will charge you $150, it was such bullshit so I canceled the reservation and just went over to U-Haul which cut into our money by $127 but it’s better than our first option. There’s so much more to say but Im tired and sore so I’ll do that in another post.
One thing this trip taught me, there’s so much nothing in the US lol
We were firmly cussed out by Casper when we got home but he’s been such a cuddle bug since.
We’ve got a lot of rearranging to do but I’ll be back to posting harp content and likely fire performance content again soon <3

I’ve got plenty of videos on my page from over the last 3 years but now I’ll be able to finally use my newest one more because just before I’d moved, I only got to take 1-2 videos of it. I’d tried to prefilm as much as I could because I didn’t know when I’d be back home or how I’d even get them back and sadly that wasn’t one I filmed on as much. I’ve not ran it through any of my effects pedals yet so that’s going to be fun.

I hope we get to see harps! One of my friends plays brass in symphony orchestra; I get to go backstage since he needs help opening doors, carrying items, and my inquisitive "roadiness". Sometimes before but often after performances, I am in position to assist other musicians move their instruments out to their cars; most likely to need help is harpist, to which I look fwd bc instrument is so delicate compared to tubas and gongs and timpani. Congrats!

Thankfully we already got those inside. I’ve just got to get their stands. I brought them in first because it was in the 30’s and I was sooo scared that the cold would break strings or crack the bodies. They survived the trip really well and soon I’ll be back to posting as usual.

And surprisingly everything is in one piece! Sadly some of my recording equipment was broken when I got home, we found out some of my stuff had been gone through by a guy my sister has been hanging out with and my recording headphones among a few other things are broken thanks to this weirdo… but getting everything up here went pretty good. I just wish we had an elevator here because bringing everything up 3 flights of stairs was hell for us.

Bummer to hear that Mr. Rude did Mr. Rude things to some of the equipment; hopefully it's something that can easily and / or cheaply be repaired — replaced, if needed.
Mm, I certainly know and remember those woes vividly, from assisting friends move stuff up stairs, frequently doing the "Pivot!" dance on landings with bulky stuff. ×.×

Hoping to be back to writing music next week. As for MN, The city of Minneapolis was nominated for a Nobel peace prize for fighting back against ICE, we still have a lot of fighting to do because new vehicles have been delivered in two separate loads, they changing tactics to make themselves seem like broken down motorists etc. It’s the first time an entire city has been nominated and I’d say it’s very likely to win.

There’s someone who manages GoGo dancers etc in the area and she said that I could bring in quite a bit here and there doing fire performances at a few clubs around here because it’s apparently a niche thing in the area surprisingly. So I need to get my performers insurance back (it’s not super expensive. It’s $350 annually but it covers a variety of different things. Basic coverage covers $200k-$1 mil in damage depending on what kind) so that would be an awesome thing to do.
