What I find funny/ironic is that there are more MAGAt Retrumplicans (almost 6 million registered republicans, according to Independent Voter Project) in CA. then entire population of many (most) conservative "Red" states
Not to kink shame, but I learned what a "cuck" was, not from watching porn or my liberal friends, but from conservatives. Cuckold porn seemed to be universally known to Republicans and I don't know a single liberal who knew about it until conservatives started using it as a swear.
When I visited Campbell California as soon as I got into the downtown core I got involved in a riot, I mean octoberfest. Then I went wandering around the neighborhood where my nephew lives, with houses dressed up with all their citrus trees ready for halloween. My nephew and is two kids and two wives was very sociable that evening
You'd be surprised at the level of cognitive dissonance some Republicans have.
Ever met an openly gay, furry, Hispanic Republican? Cause I've met a few. They live with an utterly false perception of reality and nothing will convince them otherwise.
Akshully, the "I hope she's gentle with me" implies that either he's not comfortable bringing up his preferences or that his partner frequently ignores his requests. This is a sign that the dynamic may be unhealthy or abusive.
Too bee faaaaaiiiiiir, it's still accurate because a man who 'lets' his wife abuse him into submission instead of the other way around is probably seen as pathetic to the Republicans.
You want the whole list of what I think is wrong with Republicans? Nvm, I don’t have time to make it this weekend, and it would take the whole weekend to create…
I dunno. I've been to Texas. The entire fucking state reeks of cow shit. If I'm walking down the street, I can side-step a turd, but how do you get away from the pervasive odor of cow shit permeating the whole state?
The insane thing is this is evidence of extremely homeless-unfriendly attitudes and architecture. If we just made sure there were publicly available toilets for people, people wouldn't shit in the goddamn street.
Point is, we don't even have sufficient public toilets for a majority, slightly over 50%, of mankind, women. Female urban planners are on it since decades, still we have to stand in line for uncounted hrs in our lives whilst bleeding and careworking, still facilities do not meet our needs. And you talk about a minority at the bottom of the hierarchy. They stand no chance. And don't get me started on women getting raped because no toilet- truthbomb from international development cooperation.
Just judging from people saying that riding a motorcycle (lane splitting is legal there) can take 45 off their commute versus driving a car, yeah probably.
But public transit is the other way around. Need to go someplace two miles away? walk a quater mile to the nearest stop, ride 15 miles to the central hub, transfer, ride another 15 miles to a stop a half mile from your destination. I miss east coast public transit so much
The big problem on the east coast is the legacy architecture. Cities in the east coast were founded in the 1600s and 1700s and not built for cars. Cities in the west coast were founded in the 1800s and 1900s, in many cases didn't really start growing until cars were popular.
"LA is LA" I mean I can match that on the East Coast; I can go up and down the Jersey Turnpike (I-95) and the Parkway just fine, head out through Pennsylvania no issue, go down south through Delaware okay... get to Baltimore and spend as much time going through the next mile and a half as I did GETTING THERE. And dear lord, driving in New York... No, scratch that, FINDING PARKING AND GETTING INTO THE SPOT in New York!
And yet in downtown Seattle, 2 block from Pikes, I had my choice of 3 different parking garages, each with multiple spots open, cost me $20 for 4 hours. The west coast is the best coast. (Until Cascadia breaks and we all die anyway…)
Indeed. Honestly been living in the city a few years now, haven't hit traffic like that as long as you know what you're doing IE using the streets and other freeways instead of jumping on the busiest fucking roads during rush hour.
Only when rush hour traffic is particularly bad. Unfortunately, if you've got a job in downtown LA, there's not much you can do to affect the commute time.
I took the train. Whenever I told people who didn't live in LA that (and honestly, even some who did), they'd be shocked. "The TRAIN? LA has a train?!" "A subway, actually." "A WHAT?"
The Red line took me pretty much door to door from home to work, NoHo to 7th/Fig, in about half an hour. Whenever I did have to drive, it could take anywhere from 45-60 minutes.
Actually my first time hearing about the train. Everyone knows the traffic is bad, but nobody talks about a train. How good are the trains and areas you can get to on them?
Pretty limited. There are basically a handful of lines that converge on downtown LA, but it's not like NYC where there's a network you can use to navigate the city. Better for distance than getting around.
If you live near one of the lines, especially in the outlying areas it can be a really convenient way to get downtown. I was lucky that I lived by a station and my office was across the street from another. They're supposed to open a line from LAX to Union Station soon, which will be good.
I purposefully moved near a stop. I take the train downtown a lot and sometimes to Santa Monica. It's at grade light rail and doesn't have right of way so not super fast but way more relaxing than driving.
I think the kid should be pardoned and given a medal. Not even joking.
I spent most of my adult life in the British army as a marksman, and the perfection of that shot still makes my balls tingle.
See, its not merely the skill it took, its the emotion it conveyed. Typical political assassinations or high profile killings are shrouded in mystery, they become hotbeds for conspiracy theories.
Not this one, the shooter made his message clear, as clear as if he had kidnapped Kirk and carved it 1/
Into his chest. The man was shot in the throat, which means the shooter had the skill to go for the headshot but decided he wanted him to suffer for at least a few seconds.
Hes shot whilst talking on a college campus about the acceptability of a certain number of college students deaths from gun violence per year.
Hes shot underneath a banner that says prove me wrong, and the shooter allows him to finish his point before responding with his own.
Meanwhile what actually happens in California is that you get all your rights taken away just like you would in a red state, but because there's a blue tie on the asshole doing it everyone else acts like that's not happening, and then yells at you and calls you a Trump supporter when you point out the guy doing all this bad shit shouldn't be even considered for the position of "next president of the US"
At the end of the day none of them have any ideals (except maybe Bernie Sanders). Doesn't mean that they're not all a million times better than a freaking dictator who is rapidly destroying the whole democratic foundation of this country.
All this sucks, but in a democratic state you can at least oppose it. But don't worry. If the democrats don't win the midterms, you will never have to think about who you want to vote for again.
So for now it sadly doesn't matter. It's either this or fascism.
I feel lile you either didn't read my post or are just positioned to spread uncertainty.
I will make it more clear: Newsome sucks but if you vote for Republicans or not at all in the midterms, thats it. Thats the end. America will not be democratic anymore. No exageration.
It's not about Newsome for president it's about preventing the end of the world.
And he's not a MAGAt he is just a souless cloudchaser who will take on any ideology to become president. But this is midterms. Not presidency.
>you didn't read my post< I read it, you're deflecting. I was talking about one very specific thing, "Gavin Newsom is a MAGAt and California is a red state with a coat of blue paint on it." Your response was "but vote blue no matter who!" a standard liberal deflection from any criticism that's ever levelled at a democrat, the exact thing I mentioned in my last sentence is what liberals fucking do in response to criticsm of MAGAts on "their team".
Hell your intuition is so wrong that you need look no further than @GatorConspiracy's dumbass comment suggesting that Gavin Newsom, Governor of California, is "far left" and that the only people who could possibly criticize him are "centrists"
grifters like Gavin Newsom, who killed California's attempt at universal healthcare, deliberately started programs aimed at torturing and killing unhoused people, is saying he wants to ban trans people from everything, and is an active collaborator with nazis like Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon, and Ben Shapiro?
Cuz the fact that you responded to my comment pointing that out with a meme that only compared the far left and far right says in your mind Gavin Newsom is, at minimum, not far right.
Gavin Newsom is not the hero of the left you seem to think he is. Every leftist I know pretty much hates him. So I guess when voting comes around we try someone better, if we even get to vote again btw, which MAGA is already working on getting rid of, along with worker rights and everything else.
>the hero of the left< Where did I say he was in ANY way left wing. Are you confusing "liberal" with "left wing" again, as you did in your initial response?
Exactly. Any time someone gives me the *both sides" nonsense this is my response. Dems aren't perfect, but holy hell are they nothing like Republicans (the now MAGA party). Do I wish we had ranked voting and more choice? Yes. Do we currently have that option? No.
>are they nothing like republicans< Yea Gavin Newsom, Governor of California, has nothing in common with Republicans. Except his transphobia. And his friendship with Charlie Kirk.
