I had a fine team before I retired, and they paired me with that same team to go on my first rescue mission from retirement, but then decided to add some techno blabbing lass from Area 51 to accompany us. She pulled the sexism card.
I have no problem with women, I like women, I just got a little problem with scientists. They sneeze a lot.
One of my team members was going through old footage from bygone experiments and found footage of someone going on a mission in 1945, we follow the trail and find him.
He was nearly 80 years old and completely naked.
Oh boy this was fun, these guys are sniveling, egomanical power mongers with a penchant for being over-dramatic. They sit down and start yelling at each other, but the minute I say one word they get offended and storm out.
So sometimes it's a slow day on base and I want to practice some golfing, no big deal right, and I've got to have hit a few records. The General didn't seem to appreciate my use of military equipment for such recreational activities though.
He didn't even wait until I finished my backswing to yell at me. But later on I french kissed my hot subordinate officer, so I have that going for me, which is nice.
When you have a lagtime of a few minutes on radio communications you know you're a little off course.
These guys meant well enough, but they almost blew a very sensitive mission. We had to get a fifth column of rebels to hide them in a storage unit until we could retrieve them.
In the end though, our informant was assassinated by his own troops and we had to fight our way out, so it worked out in the end.
This takes the cake as the weirdest thing to happen to me. It's easily 2 in the morning and I wake up to find my entire team in full combat gear standing around my bed staring at me.
Turns out they just spent the passed week with a mini me, someone created a teenager clone that knew everything I knew, but I slept for a week, why aren't we discussing that? That's some quality sleeping in right there.
This hit me the hardest, she always had time for anyone and everyone and was extremely good at what she did, in fact she died saving an Airman's life, and because of her amazing work, he was bale to see his wife again and meet his newborn daughter.
Rest in Peace Doctor Janet Fraiser.
I don't know why I accepted this promotion, I have some pretty heavy shoes to fill and I miss going on missions.
For seven years I've been witnessing the life of a barber in Indiana.
Bowling league, Thursday nights, barber got game.
That's it for now, let me know if you want to hear more work stories like this.
