Really just shows that if your shit looks cool enough it's pretty effective propaganda. I know it's a faaaaar cry, but there's a reason for as awful and shitty as they are, ICE still gets recruits. To a certain segment of the population, getting to cosplay like you're in a Call of Duty game is a free recruitment tool.

There's a comic book sorta about this, group of elite stormtroopers who hunt rebel terrorists and LOVE the empire. Because most of them came from backwater slave worlds, places of misery and death that the republic never bothered to clean up. Where the "heroic" Jedi never set foot. And then the empire came, and in a single day smashed the masters and broke their chains. It's kinda neat, makes them more relatable as characters because they have a reason to love the empire

Sorta the opposite but i recognize the republic had failures in justice and equity. The fact that they leave Anakin’s mom a slave is really sorta glossed over or jedi-washed.
But the way Bad Batch comes to their senses and switches sides is kind of awesome and I’d love to see that Full Metal Jacket style stormtrooper story where they have graffiti on their armor and hate their jobs and are traumatized by what they do
