Video footage from 1984 captures Gary Plauché just moments before he shot child predator Jeffrey Doucet.
On March 16, 1984, Leon Gary Plauché shot and killed Jeffrey Doucet, who had kidnapped and raped Plauché's son, Joseph Boyce "Jody" Plauché.
Plauché shot Doucet as he was being escorted through Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport by law enforcement to face trial, an event that was captured on camera by a local news crew. Plauché was given a seven-year suspended sentence with five years' probation and 300 more hours of community service, receiving no prison time.
When he was questioned as to why he shot Doucet, Plauché contended that he was in the right for killing Doucet for sexually assaulting his son and that any parent in a similar position would have done the same thing, stating "if somebody did it to your kid, you'd do it too."

All pedos deserve this when their guilt is certain.
Rapbot20
I see no problem here
brownribbon
Just remember, if the penalty for pedophilia is the same as murder, it might have the unintended consequences of convincing the rapist to kill the victim. After all, the penalty is the same either way and dead people can’t testify.
PolitiCat
If i was on this jury I would have campaigned for nullification.

All sex predators*. Pedophiles have the attraction, but not all act on it. Many of them are disgusted by these urges and want help.
IncognitoEnthusiast
For legal reasons, I am not saying I condoning this sort of action, but I am damn sure not saying I dont either.
doctorId
It's because if Doucet had gone to trial there'd have been a decent chance he'd have gotten an even lighter sentence and been back on the street to do it again. Nobody would feel the need to do these things if they thought they could trust the system to work.
OkButWhyWereTheyFilming
No prison time, a rare win for the US justice system tbh.
CatSparkleBreaker
Probation and community service for raping a child? I'm surprised he didn't start with the judge
Snufflegrumpagus
The son is an Imgurian, believe it or not. Seems like a good dude.

How do we know?
Snufflegrumpagus
We don't, but his cats look to be well taken care of and other than a couple of Imgur faux pas such as selfies, his posts seem fairly innocuous.

Whats his profile???
Snufflegrumpagus
I don't want to link his profile and potentially bring him unwanted attention, but you should be able to find it by searching his first and last name with no spaces.

So moral of the story here, hire a Sicario.

He served no prison time.
Rockafella83
Well played then..

My only issue with this is that the facts might have been clear in this case but based on DNA exonerations I wouldn't take law enforcement's first arrest in the general case.

No, that was the dad. He killed the suspect as he was being transported for trial.
Isthe4thtimethecharm
He may have been going off what his son told him about it. Also they may have found his son at the kidnappers house. I am sorry if you kidnap a kid I am going to assume you mean the worse possible fate for that kid.
calenti
Vigilantism sounds fun but it's still a death penalty. Those opposed to the state practicing it due to the frequency they get guilt wrong should explain how this is an improvement. In this case guilt was clear but summary execution based on an arrest in general seems..er...
Isthe4thtimethecharm
Biggest argument I have against this is it was too easy on the rapist. But I 100% see where the father was coming from. If I was on the jury I don't know if you could convince me he was guilty.

It was very polite of him to hang up the phone

jankyupeblik
He wasn't legitimately elected, but it's true that had enough of us bothered to vote he also wouldn't have assumed office.
senseicombs
There have been 3 assassination attempts so far. Sure, his propagate works for his followers, but we are in a very strongly divided country, so I would bet more attempts are coming. Some people hate him as much as his followers love him, so theres a lot of strong emotions here.
AtmaDarkwolf
Seems that is a requirement for leadership in that place. An entire country of child raping, Nazi loving, clowns. One day they may realize that is how the world sees them, and for a moment, notice that being a child raping clown is NOT a good thing. Maybe. Idk America can be pretty slow about these things...
KleptoKea
Evidently, mate. Some of them here are having such a hard time accepting that this is how the world sees them that they create multiple accounts to stalk, harrass and mass downvote people who make comments like ours 😂.
boobityboobityboobity
You know people are disowning their families over this? How are we Americans supposed to act when you're talking to the crowd that favors your opinion? Like, most of the people on this platform hate trump and agree with you, so why generalize and make them feel bad for things outside our power? We voted. We protested. He cheated and silenced who he could. We were run over despite doing it right, so why do you want to put us down for something we have been doing what we can the whole time?
KleptoKea
There were good Germans who tried to resist Hitler, but the world still judged the Germans as a People for what happened in the 1930's and 1940's. Judging the Americans for what they as a People have allowed USA to become similarly doesn't require the disavowal that there are good Americans who didn't want this. But when the "Largest protest in US history" was no more than a meagre 2% of the population holding signs for a couple of hours on a Sunday, I'd daresay the Germans resisted Hitler more.
Justint1me
Why would you say something so hurtful yet so true

Is it Mars?
KleptoKea
How long has Mars been doing this for? I know one account that seems to be a main for the person here doing this. I can DM it to you if you're curious. They've gotten real messy in the past when I outed them here. Started making bogus reports to try and get me permabanned, which failed because the mods saw I didn't break any rules, and the reports were super-suspiciously coordinated.
lurkyloos
Long enough that people call him out. I tried to find his last comment to me on an anti-Nazi post. He said “you are my enemy. Nazis aren’t real” or something like that. What a douche.
KleptoKea
Thanks mate, I appreciate you looking into it from your end. It might be one of their accounts, though the person stalking/harrassing me doesn't seem to be overtly Nazi, as far as I can tell (look at me, giving them credit). They just seem to get super triggered by anyone calling Americans or USA out. Super thin-skinned hyper-nationalist at the very least, it would appear. Their extreme stalking behaviour though suggests to they are very unwell, and I say that non-insultingly.
lurkyloos
I found it! This account is from 2017 - I wonder if it’s the same asshole.

Yea. New one is pretty decent too, imho. But from the old ones i like season 2 and 5 best (aaand now i get flak)
CaptainWARLORD
What's wrong with season 1? Imo season 1 and 2 are the best.
CardeasIV
I dont think theres something wrong with it i just...didnt really enjoy it? Felt weird to me - i loved second, because who wouldnt love Special Agent Fucking Asshole (its joke for those who know) and fifth cuz i love how the rapists were hunted down one by one and then they knew they are comming...and even the fact Lumen found peace after all that
CaptainWARLORD
Doakes was a good antagonist. I didn't like Lumen or Lila. Very annoying characters. For me it's S1 -> S2 -> S4 -> S3. It's been a while since I watched it, I forgot which seasons had which antagonists. My absolute least favorite was the one with the church nonsense. That season was ass. S1 is good because it sets everything up. Great character introductions etc. that carries over into S2. The rivalry between Doakes and Dexter was a highlight, followed by the tension with Lundy.
Sunshine12345
The Justice system has failed victims and the general public in regards to sexual crimes, systematically and for ages. Sooner or later there's going to be a lot of predators facing people's justice since our system is so broken.
Photeus
Which is bad, because there was a reason we wanted a working Justice system. Being innocent before being proved guilty is important.
But you're right. When even one man becomes above the law, it all starts falling apart. Now we've got assholes all over who perpetuate perversions of justice daily that vigilantism is inevitable.
Sunshine12345
Exactly. Its corruption and failures are going to lead to so many troubles. No one trusts it currently in regards to sex crimes. No victim expects their case to be investigated and knows they are far more likely to be punished if they report. They also be punished if they don't.
People will die. Sadly, nothing will change until it becomes common practice to just kill the criminals. Innocent lives will be taken, otherwise good people will feel driven to kill just to prevent future victims.
Snooj
You can go on his son's website and find the full unedited video. It breaks my heart to hear the cops yelling "Why, Gary?" because it means they obviously knew him, felt for him, would have probably done the same thing, but still knew he was in for a bad future for himself.
PassiveAgressiveMan
Got a link?

His son's name is Jody. Googling will get you there. I don't feel like reading Imgur warning messages tonight.

according to the link: During 1983 and 1984, 11 year old Jody was taking karate lessons with an instructor, 25-year-old Jeffrey Doucet. Unbeknownst to Jody's parents, Doucet had been sexually abusing the boy for at least a year. On February 14, 1984, Doucet kidnapped Jody and took him to a motel in Anaheim, California...
Gary, thank you for taking this guy out and most likely preventing this from happening to someone else's child. If we ever meet, first, second, and third beers are on me.

Gary passed away in 2014 though. You could pour out one for him instead.

"When he was questioned as to why he shot Doucet" ...not going for the hardest of questions there, were they?
hanmerhack
I could understand if Doucet got out on a technicality or was able to evade capture or something like that, but he was on his way to trial. To me this was a man who was raised to distrust the USA's legal system.
doctorId
If you have functional eyes and ears it's not hard to lack trust in the legal system.
ImurevJourhein
Imagine being a parent whose child was hurt by something less a human and more a walking cancer, and your (admittedly rational) response is to remove said cancer from society for good. Then, because it's somehow wrong to do this, someone has the sheer gall to ask you why you did it.
astrangehop
Yeah, that's a softball question from a journalist. If you need a quote what would you have asked? If he believed in the court system?

Thr cameraman never dies, it is known.

It was a crazy shot. Under the arm, towards the target, a police officer and the camera man and only hit the target in the head.

Sounds like the weeks leading up to this he probably had a pretty great pedophile killing shooting practice montage

I told my Dad that I was taking my kids and leaving so my dad made my mom uninvite him. When I was a child, I was not taught how fucked up what he did to me was. It should never have been a choice to have him a part of my life.
AHornyRhino
I wouldn't even be around if she said something like that. Or anyone for that matter.
PolitiCat
This is not your mom. This is an accomplice. Cut contact with everyone supporting him or her. People like this would also give them access to your kids.
giraffytaffy
Thankfully he lives in another State but my dad definitely wouldn't let him near my kids. I think they finally understand my feelings and the gravity of the issue. My relationship with my mom is hanging on by a very thin thread.
PolitiCat
Cut the thread. What is stopping you?
giraffytaffy
My Dad. He keeps my mom at least a little reigned in. He regrets not putting his foot down concerning my "relationship" with my abuser. He tried to respect my wishes (at the time I still wanted to know him because I was a child and didn't understand). He is 1000x the parent my mother is even with the mistakes he's made.
PolitiCat
Would your father cut her off if you asked him to?
