The U.S. is starving the U.N, and Europe's getting stuck with the bill . The problem is, the U.S. didn't give them a heads up, so now they're scrambling. UN estimates 300 million people already face acute food insecurity across conflict zones. The ICRC warns that 120 million are displaced. Climate stress, state fragility, and power vacuums don't resolve peacefully. Conservative projections for the coming decades of multipolarity without governance put preventable deaths — from war, famine, and disease enabled by instability — in the hundreds of millions.
The old colonialism took by force. The new one ruled by architecture. Both are now being refused — and the space between orders is where people die.
What replaces them won't be chosen. It will be contested. And the cost will be counted in lives, not summits.
