My wife and I love gaming together, but local Co-op games are getting harder and harder to find. So we got two consoles and two TVs so we can play network co-op games side by side.

Baldur's Gate 3 features both network co-op and local co-op, so now we can have a total of 4 players in the same room.

Now all we need are some friends.

Pip tax. We thought he had a wound on his nose, turned out to be beans.

Molly tax

Skecher and Smudge. They don't have thumbs so they can't play games with us.

We do the same thing for pokemon raids. Two switches hooked up to side by side tvs and two handhelds for a 4 person raid team. Happy gaming!

I aspire to have a love like this.

That's some co-op commitment, I dig it.

What controllers are those?

PS5 controllers. You can remove the standard black face plates so we swapped them for different colors

This sounds like code for a s3x thing. Is this a s3x thing?

Everything in the world is about s3x except s3x. S3x is about power. - Oscar Wilde

Can someone explain to me why you need two consoles to have 4 players simultaneously in a turn based game? Didn't the last title Larian put out allow 4 even if you only had one controller?

It's a good point. Some games only support 1 player on network 😭 Can only do local play split screen or local shared controller. I liked that Xbox halo would allow multiple accounts signed in for party online play.

BG3s multiplayer features were… not great upon release. Though to clarify, it’s *sorta* turn based. Or mostly turn based. There are scenarios where players can act at the same time during combat. It’s… strange.

I mean makes sense in the way that if all have the initiative at the same time. They can go at the same time. Part of the coop

Only the battles are turn based. The rest of the time all the players can freely move around the world. A player can get drawn into a battle and it won't affect the other players if they're far away, and each player can be in a separate battle. Other players can join your battle if they're close enough. The only problem with this is they can get drawn in to a battle while they're still pretty far away, so it can take a few turns before they're close enough to do much.

Well, I still think you could "tether" players to a party leader while exploring and it would be just fine if there weren't enough consoles.

I really like not being tethered, that way we can all explore different areas. I don't like the rubber band effect in some games where you get snapped back to the leader when you get too far away

I can understand that, I'm fine with both being available depending on how many consoles are playing. That makes sense to me. Best of both worlds

Diablo 3 had a unique method of allowing 4 on one console and it made the game much more fun. Just a thought. Please enjoy your badass 2 console setup. I'm jelly
