he's got all the fixins...

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Having completed his perfect kitchen, Chris just wants to look out the window like a house pet all day.

3 months ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 1

He wept, for there were no more cabinets to build

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey don't shame. That is a very honorable and relatable desire :D

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Since there are no hanging cabinets he’s probably just taking a break

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The ambient lighting is amazing too.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All those appliances and hardly any prep space

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is an ad for RevAShelf. I don't know what hack did your cabinets, but part labels on the backs of doors are atrocious

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not touching a knob first to get to my paper towels. Those mixer stands are $200 so he's not a "master builder", you buy them and top them with whatever counter material you want. It provides no work space around the bowl and ensures everything you spill goes right onto the floor which is not my preference. And the setup looks weird with no overhead cabinets. Plus you don't get 85% of a circle just because your corner doors fold in. That's not how geometry works.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I’m thinking this is being built for wheelchair-adapted, maybe?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's appears to be good cabinet making carpentry but also the lazy susan and mixer lift are hardware kits you can buy.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Props on the micro, much to be improved on the macro (vibes).

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone know where I can find that cool hing mechanism, or what it is called?

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This amount of space feels abnormal. Yea i have like a quarter of this cabinet space, it's all going on top of each other. I don't have room to give a kitchen aid an ENTIRE cabinet to itself, it's on top of the fridge.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is some great planning and execution!

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That's a $300 ice maker. It makes the pellet ice!

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He needs to put anything on the walls. Please, I am begging you. That is too much blank wall.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

30% of that paper roll will be used to clean the handle for the drawer when opening it with greasy fingers

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But like… it’s lowkey kinda ugly and missing windows and overhead cabinets.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every kitchen appliance you say?

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm not gay but I'd marry his boy Chris! This is awesome!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice sink. Fuck all counter space, meh layout, too much floor area.

3 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

The nice things about this kitchen is it isn’t done. They could totally have upper cabinets that are on back order, but after they are installed, then an island counter with wheels could be used to store some of the appliances on the countertop, and the movable counter could be placed where needed when doing food prep.

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You sure it’s not done?

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It looks so naked! I hope he is going to put more cabinets in.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 have a kitchen the size of a normal house
#2 be "very efficient" with your kitchen space
#4 don't worry about cleaning stuff

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#3 there is no #3

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#9 ... Profit!!!

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can do amazing things when you have money.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I want upper cabinets. Where are his glasses and plates?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Either the kitchen isn’t finished or this is a wheelchair adapted kitchen setup.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that and no overhead cabinets?

3 months ago | Likes 267 Dislikes 0

Maybe the walls wouldn't support them?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or an island?

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The doored carousel is straight out of the mid 1950s

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Right. Feels wrong.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No overhead cabinets allowed since the overhead cabinet rebellion of 2123

3 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Needs shelves and cans of whale blubber and beer. Preferably on their own shelves

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

What I was hoping to see is servo motor controlled overhead cabinets that recess into the wall. You just touch the metal rim of the recessed cabinet door, and the unit slowly slides out and then at full extension, the doors automatically swing open. But it gets better. If you touch the exposed bottom shelf edge, the unit lower down 2 feet for easier access. 😏😉

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And they use no wall space but instead slide into pocket dimensions. And in these pocket dimensions there is no atmosphere, so no viruses, bacteria, or roaches!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Name checks out. 😏😉👍

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now that you mention it... This doesn't feel like a "futuristic kitchen", this feel wheel chair accessible.

3 months ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 0

That contraption doesn’t look nearly sturdy enough to actually use that stand mixer. Imagine a bread dough whapping around on a dough hook

3 months ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

Looks like there's nothing stopping it from being slid backward onto the countertop (there's a gap between appliances for it), so it's more like a storage apparatus than a stand.

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

He says in the video that it locks. That design is meant specifically for stand mixers. I have it and it works like a dream.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s what it’s designed for. I think they getting the material into the bowl is gonna suck and stuff is gonna end up on the floor. Also these days I believe a socket inside a cabinet is no longer up to code. Not sure.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's fine so long as the outlet is housed correctly and the cable is shielded.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I forget what the objection was TBH. You’d want GFCI protection too.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And they probably have that.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That whole lift system was likely designed for stand-mixers. Assuming they purchased a system meant for their sized mixer, it'll probably be just fine.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Good point. Maybe it has legs that fold down?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At the end, that sponge/scrubber storage is going to stay damp and nasty.

3 months ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 9

Use it only to hold new unused spare ones. The one in use stays out and doesn't ick up the storage

3 months ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Yup. My parents' kitchen has that drawer thing, too. Chip clips and dry sponges.

3 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have that in my kitchen, you don't store wet items in it and I have drain holes at the bottom.

3 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

they have drain holes. My mom's kitchen has that.

3 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Where does it drain into?

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It just drips into the cabinet. They'reore there to prevent standing water and rusting. If you're gathering so much that it needs a guided drain, you're using it wrong. You need to wring the sponges out.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The diminishing returns on that capital investment is impressive.

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

If the doors of the Lazy Susan still shut at a 90⁰ angle, how can it retain 85% storage space?

3 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I think it scoots

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It evidently pushes the shelves back into the under counter space, away from doors, when they are closed, and pulls them forward when doors are opened toward each other into a sharper angle.

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

The terms you're looking for are "kidney" vs "Pie cut" lazy susans - with pie cut, the doors attach to the lazy susan - most people are used to the "kidney" ones where the doors attach to the frame. With Pie Cut, you get just a *little* more usable space because the cut-out for the doors doesn't need to be as large.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you pause it about 32 second in, you can see the doors folding towards each other and into the circle of the Lazy Susan and I think bring it forward a bit, too … so while Chris might be getting 85% of the circle (and I'd want to check the math on that figure) it appears to be a *smaller circle* than a simple 3/4 Lazy Susan in a corner cabinet would normally be.
And if you're that worried about space, I'd have those two doors open /out/ and put in the biggest Lazy Susan possible in the corner.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

having doors that open out gives you what's called a "kidney" lazy susan, and you still lose more space than this "pie cut" lazy susan shape.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The paper towel drawer is stupid. If your hands are dirty and/or wet, you have to dirty up the drawer knob in order to get at the towels.

3 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Yeah my thought as well. A simple towel stand ain't that complicated.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I like most of the stuff shown but that was the one that stood out as just dumb and worse than almost any alternative available.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's when you install a floor pedal, you use your foot to press and drawer pops out.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe it's just me, but using paper towels to clean or dry one's hands seems a bit wasteful, does it not? I mean, there's a sink and a kitchen towel right there for any cleaning and drying needs.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's way more convenient to wipe your hand off with a paper towel instead of dirtying a hand towel or repeatedly washing them off for things like when you have fat or oil on your hands from cooking. For example, after forming burger patties by hand or breading chicken breasts. It's less wasteful to use some compostable paper towel sheets than wearing latex gloves while doing it like some people do.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I have several kitchen towels and a washing machine. I mean, if the kitchen towel is meant to be kept clean, what's it for?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So you'd rather waste all that water by constantly washing dirtied cloth hand towels?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

How much do you think a kitchen towel or two thrown in with the rest of the laundry will increase my water usage? I mean, the machine will use the exact same amount of water regardless of whether the towels are in there or not.

Interesting mini convection over or is it an air fryer

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

An air fryer IS a mini convection oven.

Oven*

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got a mini convection oven very similar to it. Has a whole load of settings. Mine's not that brand, but I think mine might be slightly bigger.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They are amazing! I use mine way more than my regular oven.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only time I use my big oven anymore is in the dead of winter. I love my convection oven

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly! I always hated the amount of heat my regular oven put out and my airfryer/mini-convection/toaster/dehydrator is faster without heating my entire kitchen up. In the summer, I’m thrilled not to have to deal with all that heat! I only use my oven for large things or in winter, also.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its an Emeril Lagasse French Door Air Fryer Toaster Oven Combo, featuring a built-in air fryer oven, toaster, food dehydrator, and rotating rotisserie.

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How the FUCK did you figure that out?!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I figured it out because I have the same appliance. These combo air fryers, convection ovens/dehydrators are fucking amazing! I haven’t used my actual regular oven in months! I’ll never not have one now! I use my airfryer and instapot more than I use my oven and microwave.
