This is equality

We are all fucked up in one way or another, we're all suffering.

The sooner we accept that the sooner we can all begin to move beyond the petty things.

Then we can worry about important things - like the insidious Reptilian invasion! Wake up people!

It also shows that trans people (not tumblr snowflakes) aren't making it up. Being forced to live as another gender is seriously harmful.

its almost like it doesnt matter what your gender is, you still have problems.

11 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 3

It's like we're mostly the same.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I can't tell if this lizard thing is serious....

tl;dr Equality isn't comparisons. Equality is everything.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I acknowledge and respect the struggles and problems of women. Thank you for respecting ours.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Yes, so, oughtn't we be supporting the only people I know of who are attempting to allow a little freedom into the dynamic?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I always try to avoid the "my pain is more exquisite than yours" arguments. We all hurt, and I think a lot of us do the best we can.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Everyone has problems. No one is special in that regard.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I liked what she wrote about dating: That she had no idea how hard and soul crushing it was to be a man and have to approach women. [1]

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

To be under constant pressure to impress them and keep them engaged. To alway take the lead, make the right calls, and often pay for it. [2]

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She said she rarely or never got a second date, but when she revealed she was a woman suddenly women would go from sneering to... [3]

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

super interested in taking her home and hooking up. They hated her male ego, but liked him when he became a she. [4]

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think my whole gripe with this subject is people who make gender issues a contest, like one is worse off than the other.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip7kP_dd6LU Part of her story. Interesting watch

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Life is fucking hard work sometimes, but like running a marathon or raising kids, hard work can be amazing. It's not a competition 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

2/2 about who's got it harder. Just deal with the shit and try to enjoy everything else.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Being a man isn't that hard. It's the best time in history to be human lighten up people

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

I wathed an interview with her. She got a lot of stuff wrong. Like how men have no emotions to sex. It's all instinctually.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I watched the interview, she didn't say that at all. She said sexuality for man is down below and for women it's in the head.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Which it is not. It's all in the head for both sexes. Men aren't light switches. You can't just grab his dick and expect sex to fall out.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She also thought men were isolated and pent up, because she didn't understand that men do a lot of nonverbal communication.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I read her book. I felt like she tried her best to be objective but chose the worst situations to represent normal men's experiences.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

kind of funny that the only feminism posts that every make it to imgurs front page are ones where the feminist say men have it rough

11 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 12

speaking truth to power?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

This isn't really Feminism. Feminists criticized her book sharply. MRAs received it well. But what do you have against helping men?

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 14

sounds like i struck a nerve lol dont be so sensitive

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 9

You didn't answer my question. :)

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

People who think men have it good are always looking the top 15%. The bottom 85% are ignored, as usual.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Indeed. Men are at the top but they're also far more likely to be homeless.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The problem is they ONLY look at the top 15% men, but compare it to the average woman instead of comparing the 15% of women.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

The average woman is attractive to men; the average man is unattractive to women. Link below:

That's why when we come home from work we just sit for 15-30 minutes not doing anything. Our de-stressing for the day.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Read that book as it had been left at a rental I was staying at, didn't know the authors story

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it comes up in conversation, I always try to remind anyone who might think otherwise that sexism affects everyone. Shitty boxes.

11 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 9

Having problems isn't the same as sexism. Sexism is systematic disenfranchisement, which white men in the US don't face.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 18

That's not to say we don't face our own problems (we do, and some are quite serious).. But we control our own social polity, unlike women

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

There is a BIG difference between white men hold all the power and those who hold the power are white men.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

We are talking about social polity, not legal polity. White men in our society control social polity and are totally enfranchised.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

I'm not saying men sometimes don't bring it on themselves. But you can change social policy by enacting laws.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That sounds distressingly like "The Patriarchy/Toxic Masculinity hurts men too!" Which is just as bad as claiming men have no problems. [1]

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 8

Because it pretends men and manhood ARE the problem both sexes deal with, and completely omits problematic femininity and women. [2]

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

*toxic femininity. Let's not beat around the bush.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Wait, is KickassFacts real? I had just assumed that since they never cite their sources they were all made up.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

I remember some interview she did where she described how nerve wracking it was to approach a woman as a man and possibly face rejection.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I know.

looked it up, it actually happened, and reviews for the book are pretty scathing

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Exactly. I'm not for some MRAs who take the subject too far (just like some feminists who give the cause a bad rap), just pointing out (1/?)

This is so true. My brother in law hasn't seen his kids because his wife claimed he assaulted her when she assaulted him. He said that 1/2

As a straight, white, American, male aged 25-40, I am not allowed to be offended, and must shoulder the blame for everything wrong.

11 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 42

But at least you're not expected to fix anything. You can just ignore them like everyone else does.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Straight white American males aged 25-40 are like the most offended people ever.

11 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 13

Them and their female counterparts also tend to be the largest group that's offended on the behalf of others, for that matter.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

That seems like a straw man. But oh well, I will take the down votes for pointing out the obvious.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 10

It's funny how staying strong, staying silent, and not empathizing with people is part of the "be a man" stereotype.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And I was about to donate to the Red Cross but your problems seem so much worse, maybe there should be a charity for poor souls like you.

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 14

Luckily, despite not being allowed to be offended, you seem to have developed a persecution complex worthy of any tumblr activist.

11 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 15

It's a fucking joke. Goddamnit moonmoon.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

As a straight, white, American, male, aged 25-40, can you please stop trying to paint yourself as a victim? Yes you are, and No you don't.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently Imgur is incapable of sarcasm tonight.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

What I found funny is that you made that statement, and then got attacked for it. That kinda proved the point

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You mean that white cis men aged 25-40 aren't allowed to be upset or offended? (PS. It's also non-straights if you don't 'code' LGBT)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Everyone can be upset or offended, everyone has legitimate issues. Telling people they shouldn't complain or vent is a problem

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Clarification is important. And yes, you're right. Or that their privilege makes their problems less important.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm glad that society is slowly starting to realize that men DO HAVE gender-specific problems. We just aren't expected to talk about them

11 years ago | Likes 1284 Dislikes 34

And all of this is caused by the fact that rich successful men run the world. If only women could tell us what to do...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I twisted my ankle once. I kinda just laughed it off....pain not showing just seems to be a guy thing.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's not that we aren't expected to talk about them. It's that we are expected to NOT talk about them.

11 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

And punished when we do.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I watched my son get 'playfully' hit by his girlfriend, even after he told her to stop. It was painful that I actually had to talk 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 1

to him about it and tell him it was abuse. Thankfully he dumped her and moved on. 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Also, in general, a lot men act repulsed by the idea of feminism. It's obnoxious that gender inequality posts about men create outrage while

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

female gender inequality are deliberately skewed so it generates hate/mockery

It's a vicious cycle. We hate our feelings... Lash out on women and children and other men.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Men and women are different. It's basic biology. One difference is that women talk/communicate more/better than men starting at an early age

11 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 21

Infant boys show more emotion than infant girls. Society tells them to shut up about their emotions to 'man up.'

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

We raise guys different. Males show more emotion, but are told to man up and show less. Women are shown as weak, men are shown as strong.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Socialisation vs. innate. Communication is more a socialisation. Innate is stuff like: dexterity.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

please tell me how body shape/organs effect speech/listening/camaraderie skills.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

The differences go much further than body shape. The entire nervous system shows significant differences between sexes

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's mostly different stages of development affecting the brain. Shit like estrogen affects the brain differently than testosterone.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

(2) The changes are subtle, but they are there. And of course, individuals of both genders can vary greatly from the mean

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

(1) This is actually a fair question!! Hormones cause the differences, as they deeply affect how connections are made in the brain

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

(2) Source: these two books: "The Famale Brain" and "The Male Brain", by a neuropsychiatrist on the behavioral differences between genders

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Biology actually, lol. But eh, people d/v what they don't agree with or want to hear =]

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some research points to the opposite; that boys start vocal and sensitive but are encouraged to hide it. Which is sociology.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Its society's fault, I remember in school if you complained about getting teased/bullied as a boy you were in trouble for complaining.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) The books look at how brain development affects how males/females differentiate as they age due to biological differences in the brain

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(1) Hmm maybe. I haven't read any real "research" on this, but this is what I recall from reading "The Female/Male Brain" books.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@hypostatic @Steamhare Would you guys be willing to do a collab piece voicing your independent researches?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Society might just be figuring that out, but feminists have been pointing out how these things harm men for aaaageeeessss.

11 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 30

Through because domestic violence or custody issues have been designated women's issues. The ministers have neither the power nor desire 3/4

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

To help, so men are left with neither a "safe space" or even equality under the law. And don't get me started on "predominant agressor" 4/5

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Modern feminists are more concerned with manspreading which has had arrests, and destroying meritocracy with quotas and microagressions 6/6

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Laws, which mean even if the man is being abused, he should always be removed purely because of the Duluth model. And the bulk of 5/6

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

This is very true.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

But that's the point - The patriarchy hurts men too

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 21

Therein lies part of the problem. Throwing all of the blame for men's issues under the ever-ambiguous "patriarchy".

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

Not really that ambiguous - traditional gender roles and heteronormativity are pretty well defined aspects of it that can hurt men

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 18

Why don't you call it like it is, then? Gender roles and societal prejudice. Patriarchy just sounds like the progressive's Illuminati.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Not any that talk on stages in front of hundreds of people. Folks like Laurie Penny and Anita Sarkessian just rant about patriarchy.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 11

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 16

I disagree. I think there are absolutely some very vocal feminists trying to help men. They just don't have many outlets to be heard from.

Speaking of MRAs, they and "the Patriarchy" oddly seem to be the boogeymen of the average college self-proclaimed feminist.
