Cats purr at a healing frequency. ...I have read it speeds up healing bones and all sorts of other things, but only one I have done myself is headaches. Except for migraines, cat purring against your head will stop the headache...at least for as long as you continue holding purring cat to your head.

It is time to take your medicine, then, apparently. Alternatively there will be a therapeutic blood letting.

Cat: "yeah, yeah... I love you too, but I was pretty sure you had some snacks in that hand"... (starts to turn away grumbling to itself)... "I'm still not convinced you didn't..."

The internet's ruined me. I totally believed that cat was about 2-3 seconds away from trying to chew on that person lol.

Regarding the title, I fully believe its true, and so do cats. When I was young I had a devastating blood clot in my left leg, nearly caused me to lose it, when I got home from the hospital after 2 weeks, my cat, who had already spent the whole time never leaving my room except to eat and use the box, spent the next month sleeping on that leg and purring his little heart out.

I don't think I would have healed as perfectly as I did from a wrist arthroscopy 20 years ago had my cat not slept right up against my wrist every night thereafter, purring away.

Purring helps with bone density and recovery in damaged bones and wounds. Something about the range between 25 and 50 Hz that purring aligns to.

Unfortunately, wasn't bone damage for me, but that is fascinating to learn!
