Playing KSP really gave me a better perspective on the Soviet program. "OK, we'll test it at the launch" is maybe not the best idea, but it can save time. You just have to be flexible I'm other areas, generally those involving safety.
For real. Idk how many rescue missions just ended up needing a rescue mission as well. Worst was, when i somehow managed to leave Kerbins SOI, on accident, forgot to unfold the solar panels again and ran out of electricity. I think they still orbit Kerbol somewhere.
Speaking of. Have you guys heard the news? Apparently Kerbal Space program is currently in a shit storm due to being on sale even though the producer company has shut down
Private Division was supposed to be taking over development but now they're heading for a shut down as well so aside from slow walking work already done out to create the illusion of progress there's not much hope. There is, however, a bit of a Renaissance in KSP1 modding, and Juno: New Origins is shaping up as a solid contender for the genre.
The Design Studio, Intercept Games, for KSP 2 was shut down by the Producers Private Division a subsidary of Take-Two Interactive. Take-Two is searching for someone to buy the KSP license but wants the 18 Millions for it for the sunken cost in the Development of KSP2. Which literally was a Nope for the last buying attemp

Anyone remember Salvage 1 network TV series? They used a cement mixer as their capsule iirc. Anyway, if you do, get some ibuprofen.

Looks like a handy hurricane hide-out.

It is, unfortunately, completely full of concrete, which is why it was deemed too heavy to move and just left in place for 70 years.

I've driven by this before while out storm chasing.

They did this in AZ between Phoenix and Tucson too, complete with a parachute

I LLP one how the tv reporter calls it “The Winganon Space Capsule” without a hint of irony lol.

We have one of these in Arizona too, off the side of the I-10 south of Phoenix
TheyDontKnowAndYouCantTellEm
Ask me how much I despise the I-10. It's always SOMETHING. I will go 40 miles out of my way (Sun Valley Parkway) to stay off the I-10.

This reminds me of people painting bullseyes on the street waiting for Skylab to crash in '79...

And then nasa got issued a littering ticket after it came down in WA

I thought it was from an oxygen tank that landed in Australia? Maybe that was a different space-based littering fine.

Still breaks the heart, but it is well remembered... https://simpsonswiki.com/wiki/Skylab

The real KSP 2 was the KSP 1 we modded along the way
