Well to be crystal clear, Tommy Tuberville can’t read or write, is learning to count to 10 from Sesame Street, and unless someone told him what the vote is about, he has been instructed to vote no.
All the GOP senators opposed it. Why? Because the Dems supported it. Never mind that the bill disproportionately benefits GOP states, the Dems supported it because it helps Americans. Fuck the GOP.
If I had to guess, I bet they all know how everyone is going to vote ahead of time. So they vote against to make it close, so that they can seem like they are opposing the dems while still allowing things through.
You're not far from the truth. There's much time spent between the various (we'll call them) fraternities within Congress that includes negotiation and communication of just that. This is why we knew who (Manchin) was about to duck us up.
I can no longer ethically condone engaging with the republican party as it stands. I dont hold it against them, because they were taught that wealth will fill the holes in their hearts, and they want those holes filled, but SCIENCE ITSELF proved it cannot. Its time to stop letting them. We live in an unethical world as long as they continue to do so, and we will continue to suffer until they stop.
The GOP loves to whine about spending, oppose any infrastructure improvements that actually have net returns, and then turn around to celebrate them later. Several did during Obama's presidency.
Every time a politician (usually GQP) praises a spending bill they voted against, it should mean their state doesn't get their part of the funds. Since they voted against it.
Even in the safest of safe R states that means you're punishing a minimum of 30% of voters, and everyone who didn't or couldn't vote, for the actions of one numbskull.

A lot of Govt money benefits the "red" states because they refuse to move into the current century and want to live like it's the 50s.

Somehow it should be illegal to systematically oppose EVERYTHING that is being proposed.

Their excuse is usually “too much pork” in the bill. There’s pork in every single bill passed.
