Katy from Pory Townsend is a ho.

TL;DR If you have the means, please consider adopting a great big lovemuffin from the pound in Everett, WA.

Story time: I said no 100000 times (give or take) to a puppy but bc my kid was attached given that he'd helped bottle feed the litter (MILs dog had puppies, dogmom was actively killing them so had to take over) and my wife thought it'd be good for kid, I relented.

I got the pick of the (remaining) litter (sorry) and he was super alert and full of energy. We named him Karl Chungus Gingersnap (shouts to Andrew Russo (RIP Bartholomew)) and all was...ok. He ended up having way more energy than the kids could handle (whocouldveseenthatcoming.gif).

The poor pooch ends up spending most of his time in the kennel and when I do take him out I have to be super careful that he doesn't take off to see the neighbors that either have the old dog who can't hang or the perpetually new BnBers. He loves to fetch so I have him off leash in my yard but whenever someone pulls in he bolts to go get pets. Super nice dog and everyone's been chill but def not ok. Please don't preach about dog parks, the closest one is 40 miles away and I don't have the means to build a fence rn especially since I lost my job last July. I try and leash him as soon as someone pulls in but he just goes. If some tourists hadn't spoiled him with hot dogs maybe he wouldn't feel such great need ?

So I try and find him a better home and get lots of hits. He's young and gorgeous and amazing so ofc. One dude meets him 3 times and introduces his kids and dogs then decides.to get a puppy. Another time the couple took him and then brought him back the next day bc their landlord said he was too big. They also gave him a bath and apparently didn't dry him off enough and he got his 1st ever hotspot that is just now fully covered.

Keep in mind that I have 2 young kids and a wife who outwardly despise this 150-lb tornado. No one helps take care of him and all I get is flack for not trying hard enough to get this rehoming done.

Fast forward to last Monday night at 6 pm and I get a call from Katy, the Port Townsend ho who is entirely deserving of a good doxxing, saying that if the dog is still available then she is going to get on.a.ferry and drive over to get him. she loves him, thinks he'd be great for her female 1.5-year-old great Dane and her big fenced backyard. Says she's going to spoil him, etc etc. Her and her SO get to my podunk house like 4 hours after we hang up. I hand them the leash, all the toys, treats and food, and off they go.

So then why the *fuck* do I get a call Wednesday afternoon about my dog, an apparent stray, being brought in to the Lynnwood humane society? I explain the situation, give the lady Katy's # and she says he'll be taken to the Everett pound if no one claims him.

Katy, meanwhile, doesn't answer any of my calls, voicemails, texts or snapchats. She also offered to take pics and send them to me. Today, weirdly, she offered a simple "Hello," and nothing more.

WHAT THE FUCK, KATY?! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?!? Clearly you wanted the dog or you wouldn't have raced over to get him so why in Karl's name are you not responding to anything I'm telling you about the situation?

My wife, who, again, outwardly despised this dog and repeatedly chastised me for not taking getting rid of him fast enough, is now crying at work and doesn't know what to do. I'm sorry but I'm not taking him back just.to shove him in the kennel AFTER I just gave half his shit away. The pound said he's doing great and is highly adoptable

UNTIL

They called back and said they think he may have hip dysplasia, in which case they'd have to put him down.

What the fuck does a man do? I have raised this dog through hard times but everyone else can't stand him and I can't give him the attention he needs. I'm struggling as it is so the last thing I want to do is drive several hours to bring a dog back just to be caged. I just wish Katy would respond; if I wanted the dog to be put down, I could've done it myself a loooong time ago but that's not right, especially with how great he is and with how much everyone who meets him ASIDE FROM MY FAMILY clearly loves him.

So there it is, Imgur. I never post and feel incredibly ashamed about all of this but it's in the dog's best interest to find a better home. I know y'all are some canine comrades so if you know anyone in the area that can may want a big ol' chungus there's one for adoption at the Everett pound. PLEASE LMK if there's any interest for him. Thank you.

We have a creek and this dude lives for it.

Coming for pets.

Doing important detective work.

Can’t help you with the doggo. I can, however, share with the word how much of a ho Katy from Pory Townsend is.

Fucked up the title and it's *Port* Townsend. That part is important for efficacy.

Can't house a dog and don't know anyone who'd be suitable, but am ripshit angry at Katy and would happily give you a hug if you're ever in Redmond. You're doing your level best in rough circumstances. :(

What a crappy situation; I have nothing useful to offer, only empathy/sympathy for you and the dog.

Thanks, really sucks. Just hoping somebody can help ESPECIALLY out of spite. Like I will help with gas money to get him outta there but he shouldn't come back here.

+1 for more people to read this. So sorry, OP. You did above and beyond what most people wouldve done. Wishing you the best! And smarten up out there, Katy!

Blessings on you, Ms. Kayly. Really hoping this gains some traction and the best thing happens.

I’d bring the dog back home and keep trying. As a foster, this isn’t uncommon behavior from an adopter. That’s why many rescues have a “if something happens, you bring them back to us” policy. No question, no shame- we just want them to thrive in a happy home.

Consider joining a foster organization and enroll him as a foster. They vet the adopters, have access to sites like Petfinder, and cover vaccine updates. They should even have adoption days to bring the dog to for people to look at. Without the organization I would never would have rehomed as many rescues as I had.

Perhaps even talk to the vet about medication to calm him down so he and walk around on the house and be more tolerable to the family. I’m sure under the circumstances they’ll help.

Fuck, if I could I totally would. Everett is only about an hour from me.

I understand. If you can help spread the word about him that'd be serious good karma points. And if you know anyone from Port Townsend, make sure they understand what a ho Katy is.

My wife's cousin lives there (her name isn't Katy) but she's a total flake
(Is "flake (n) a flighty self-centered twit who can't ever get their shit together" still a thing, or has the prevalence of the pajorative "snowflake" diluted its meaning?)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nah, flakes are still flaky. Snowflakes are too delicate to be associated with that. Either way, the next time you talk to her, tell her if she ever meets a Katy that she's an infamous ho who can't be trusted. The weirdest part for me is how she isn't responding to any of my calls or texts and then today just goes "Hello" and then continues radio silence. I swear her and her SO seemed so normal but that type of aloofness when you clearly were responsible for some shady shit gives the worst vibes
