The fact that early reports of the murder had the suspect heading towards Central Park, a path full of alleys with dumpsters to dispose of any evidence and a literal park/pond full of places to discard any further evidence. Yet appeared in a whole different state with piles of 'evidence' that anyone with the intelligence to plan such an attack would have long since ditched.

His intelligence may have caused him to have difficulty deciding on how to destroy or ditch the evidence. He would likely be aware that advanced DNA tech can pick up DNA on the firearm if he didn't clean it properly and thoroughly so ditching it could have become something he fixated on doing correctly which basically ended with him not ditching the gun.

Look at it from a different perspective: what wild tasks could you complete in 12 hours if offered >$100,000? What do you think a handful of pros that are also 100% sociopaths that don't care about framing someone who may be innocent? The fact is this happenstance is mild compared to the lengths we've seen in many declassified US reports.

In a city of 8.5 million, there's bound to be at least a few fashion doppelgangers. Heck in a city the fraction of the size, I've worn the same shirt/pants combo as a coworker a few times. Since criminal charges require 'beyond reasonable doubt', this case is going to be a vertical cliff of teflon for the DA.

True. Even with the judge dropping the murder charge at the federal level, the fact that his interstate stalking resulted in a death has a maximum sentence of life in prison. It's just a less likely sentence for that than it is for the state murder charge if convicted.
