#16 This reminds me of when I played the demo for Tekken 2 on a PS1 Sampler disc. I picked Jun for a fight, went up against Heihachi, and I managed to just button-mash my way through a combo that lasted from the start of the fight until Heihachi was KO'd. It was like spouting pure gibberish for 30 seconds only for someone to see it as a work of art.

Those pallets of water weigh a lot. They are lucky the plastic broke that could easily smash a person.

#1 I'da jist watched that sucker hit the ground. Did the same thing with a box of copier paper a co-worker chucked at me. I liked my back even when I was a spring chicken.

#1 Let. It. Fall. Always, every time, think ahead about this, as an untrained persons gut reaction is always to try to stop it.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yep. It's going to fall anyway, no sense getting your organs squished out of you like a tube of toothpaste over it. Nothing that comes wrapped on a pallet can possibly have a high enough value to justify using your body as a whoopee cushion.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#34 what would cause this?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The print came off the bed and the printer kept going, printing in mid air. We call this Spaghetti, for obvious reasons.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Instant transmission

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As soon as a print like this moves even slightly from the heated bed during the printing process, it's pretty much unrecoverable.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would guess the nozzle hit the print and broke it free from the base and then kept printing like it was still in the correct place.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Whoever did that had too much faith in that bed. What I mean is that the legs unstuck from the bed and moved, so the printer started shooting filament in the middle of nowhere because the object wasn't in its place anymore. The least you can do to avoid that is to put a raft which is more filament around the first layer of your print so there's more surface in contact with the bed and less chance that this happens

#11 why is a melee in the center and two ranged DPS out front!!!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Paladin with an aura, maybe? Seems like a good amount of weapons, and people have a ghost fire like effect slightly. Also, they are in a circle, so no "front" really. And from the looks of the upper left, it may be more than one ring deep.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

best guess: It's one frame of a barbarian training video explaining why player characters occupy five-foot spaces and threaten their neighboring spaces. The rest of the footage will play out like a forklift massacre / safety vid.

#1 Like I tell new clerks when an Amazon pallet predictably collapses, always let a falling pallet fall. There ain't a damned thing on it worth getting hurt for.

2 years ago | Likes 247 Dislikes 0

That's actually company policy.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't even need to ask which company. You're right regardless of the answer.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This. 100%. Just *LET THE PALLET FALL.* No product is worth goin to the hospital for, or worse.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

If it's the US, getting hurt at work bad enough to go to the hospital is often a Fate Worse Than Death.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's actually super-clever, but holy crap would I be scared to do it that way; lol. Guess it depends on what you're transporting.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’d estimate the weight of that pallet to be about 1280 or so lbs… you aren’t stopping that.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm fairly confident I could stop it (it's a pretty low incline), but I definitely wouldn't.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

A falling pallet has no handle

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm just happy dude shoved the pallet jack out of the way. That would have ended her. And yah, let it go, it's insured. Nothing, not even the multi-million dollar gpu compute nodes I receive on a regular basis, is worth sending someone to the ER or the morgue for.

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

How come I can tell you are not the CEO of a large company???

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

thing is, it’s also the profitable choice. do you know how fucking expensive a workmans comp claim or a wrongful death lawsuit is? fuck man let it fall.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People before profit?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah that was pure stupidity to try and save that pallet. Good rule of thumb is to not try and stop something heavier than yourself.

2 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

Humans have a instinct to catch falling valuable objects.

I think it's part of the whole "Dad reflexes" thing. Every split second you take observing to see if something is valuable enough to let fall is another foot closer to having your daughter faceplant on a sharp rock, so the instinct just checks if the 'valuable' criteria has been satisfied. From phones to laptops, to kids.

[Disclaimer: No scientific research was checked in the forming of this opinion ]

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Save? I thought they were just going for the instant self-delete.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but for a lot of people, there isn't a detailed thought process going on, they're just having a reaction to a thing falling. It's why training and reminders are so important: you need to rewrite their instinct to become "let it fall".

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I’d say the rule of thumb is to default to not try to stop anything. Even something “lighter than you” becomes unpredictably heavier when you add in the momentum of the fall or an awkward angle. On top of that, you never know what’s inside- that small toaster sized box that’s falling off the desk COULD be a toaster, but it could also be a box of lead bricks, and it’s not worth finding out. If it’s not something like a pen or a bottle of water, just let it fall and clean up after.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

So one water bottle, not a whole bunch of water bottles

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

indeed. i had a bad habit of using my foot to catch/break the fall of anything small dropped. and then i dropped a knife. fortunately it didn’t cut me, but i worked *very* hard to break that habit, it just ain’t worth it. and thats triple for situations like above.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Additionally, "a falling knife becomes sharp on both ends" is something I read/heard and have taken to heart

#3 Spoilers:

he pulls either another glass or the liquid from a pocket with his left hand at ~0:05

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Slowed it down. He drops a little baggie (or rubber membrane or something to that effect) into it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its obviously not really magic, but how does he do it? He never discards the original glass, and at the end has nothing remaining in his left hand. Are you saying he is holding a glass worth of liquid in the palm of his hand, that he just took out of his pocket? That doesnt really seem like a thing that can happen. He somehow pops something in there, but I dont understand what.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As far as I can figure he has it in a thin baggie and it breaks when it hits the inside of the glass. But you would think they would see the bag floating in his drink. He is sitting right there next to them with it. I dont see him dispose of it.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

the facets on the glass cause enough distortion to hide it. A key part of this trick is that nobody will get a close look

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think there's something up with the 'smoke' in the glass too

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's in whatever the whiskey is in. I assume a bag, but it could be some other small container of some sort. Figure out what the whiskey was in, and that is the thing the smoke/vapor was in.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My guess is that there was a glass already behind him on a black table, his drink that someone already brought him. He grabs it with one hand, and makes the switch, placing the empty one behind him on the same table.

I think it's less likely that he has a bag of whiskey up his sleeve than he just did a magic trick with a refill someone brought him.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, he was almost definitely preparing this before the gif starts. Could be another glass, could be a container, but he seems to grab something from behind him or in his pocket

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He is definitely using the same glass. It's live standing right next to a bunch of other people in a busy casino and you can watch him not put any glass on a table. He pops something into it that he took out of his pocket when he smacks his hand on the top. I'm just not sure what is holding the whiskey (bag, ball of ice, membrane of some sort?).

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did he just have a very thin bag of a volatile liquid with smoke in his pocket for the whole tournament? Lol, it seems implausible for just a trick.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whiskey is not particularly volatile, its pretty stable. it will stay changed in a bag pretty much forever. We only see about 5 seconds' worth of it being in his pocket. He could have put it in there recently. He puts something in the glass that becomes a glass of liquid. I think a bag of liquid is the most plausible possibility.

As said, Valkyrie Profile. It was released ages ago on PS1, but it got re-released few years back and can be bought via PSN Store.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Dunno, but I hope they re-evaluate their positioning, so the melees are defending the wizard(?) and the archer, instead of hiding behind them.

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have to assume the woman at the center is the commander or a VIP. It's the only reason a guy with a bow should be infront of her in formation.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The game is Valkyrie Profile, can't tell you much about the rest of it.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Does it have Valkyries?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You play as a Valkyrie going around collecting recently killed souls to add to your party of warriors. Training them before deciding which ones to send to Valhalla each chapter, determining who fights at Ragnarok.

People are complex. Good people can sometimes do bad things, but bad people can also sometimes do good things. And some people really have fallen for alt right dogma and somehow legitimately believe that they actually are doing good for other people by being hateful, awful bigots.
