Just because you cannot see the chains does not mean they dont exist. The people WANT to eat. But all the food has convinced them that they should instead eat each other. And it worked. Personally, Viva la revolution. I am French and my blood SCREAMS for the burning of the evil ruling class. Doesn't mean its easy to do.

because the rich has all the military power. it's not "just the rich" it's the rich + hundrets of thousands of well trained soldiers with highly effective weapons agains a bunch of people with pitchforks and torches (maybe a pistol or two)

Yeah theres a rule i heard about in government bodies about panic and control in a population thats hungry. Its called "72 hours to 7 days". the government believes that it only takes 3 days before people kill each other for food. I used to think this was crazy until I thought about it. The third day my starving child looks up at me dying of hunger....I will have to consider if your life means more to me than theirs. Its just survival, No hard feelings. But my family is gonna eat.
