Basically a random meeting that turns into a romantic relationship. I had to look it up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meet_cute As for what point 1 is talking about, I believe it's about the person in the pajamas being an astrophysicist and also being "comfy as fuck" on the plane in their pajamas.

My best guess is the first sentence is supposed to be about kirigumi but autocorrect/swiftkeys botched it. And the part about flying in comfort is in reference to the fox pajamas.

Ah, yes, I'm sure that's it. I assumed she was someone he already knew since he didn't introduce her, but thanks to your insight I looked up kirigumi, and it means costumed character in Japanese, so it was a nickname like he gave the other strangers in the story. Must have introduced her in an earlier update that didn't get included here. Thanks for figuring that out; it was killing me.

*slight correction to my post above. My search for kirigumi got changed by Google to kigurumi, which apparently is costumed character in Japanese and a common term for the animal onesie pajamas, so I still assume that was what the narrator meant, but just spelled it incorrectly. Kirigumi does not appear to mean anything or be a common Japanese name.

You are correct, it is kigurumi and it is indeed mostly used outside of Japan (and probably in Japan, I dunno) to refer specifically to hooded one-piece pajama-type outfits, often with animal or character designs.
