MAID is medical assistance in dying. It is only available to people whose death is imminently foreseeable and who have the ability to make that decision. It's actually, imo, not available in enough circumstances. But what this guy is spouting is even more stupid than the death-panel argument meant to supress the ACA.
I would never trade our system for America's.

MAID is by far the most civilized thing we’ve done as a country in a long time.
My cousin died of Andermann’s Syndrome in 2009, before MAID passed. She spent literal years suffering and begging to die. Her *mom* would send the family emails along the lines of “she’s slipped into a coma again, let’s pray this time she doesn’t wake up.”
Too many countries treat suffering dogs better than suffering people. I’m very glad no one else in Canada has to go through what my cousin did.
