We love french toast. We add a little brandy to the mix (B and B is great too). Also nutmeg and sometimes cinnamon. But we made a recent discovery that takes french toast far beyond our expectations.

It's this bread. Delicious on it's own right, this makes incredible french toast. You can get it most anywhere during this time of year. It's like sweet fruit bread.

By the way. This plate is not the most attractive (in my taste), but it is from the '50s SACs. Strategic Air Command. Cold war shit. You know....the cold war nuclear bombers that were always flying to 'protect' us. So it's a cool artifact.

Finished with powdered sugar, maple syrup for dipping, and a German spiced biscuit.

Cat tax. Our cuties love the tub for some reason. I hope you enjoy your day. It's a nice one to settle in and stay warm.

Will need to try.

My go to fav at the moment for French toast is making it with sourdough and either using two pieces and after cooking putting Gouda cheese between them and melting it, or a think enough slice of sourdough then putting a slit in it and stuffing the Gouda inside and making that into French toast. With good maple syrup... Heaven.

You should also try French Toast made with Irish Soda Bread. It's a bit of an international clash, but it's delicious.

Agreed. I discovered Panetonne french toast about a month ago.

Congratulations! You came across the only way by which the abomination called "Panetonne" is edible. It's usually used as footing blocks for substandard housing construction.
