South Park arguably endeared a new generation of neo-nazis to the Cartman school of humor, it's just a joke bro, fuckshit. And instead of being at the vanguard of satire, they're constantly a year or more behind the zeitgeist. How long did it take them to finally start to ridicule Trump? Good satire makes a farce of fascists and oligarchs. Matt and Trey don't have the juice.

Them and every other comedian willing to be controversial. Unfortunately Matt and Trey believe that any sort of passionate and sincere ideology is something to mocked. A lot of people seemingly think you are a fool, annoying, or even dangerous for having political opinions at all. At the risk of being opinion and therefore cringe, I worry that a country full of people afraid to talk about important things will soon find that the worst people are in charge of them.

For now. They only got away with the Trump season because they were able to strong arm Paramount into paying a stupid amount of money for their latest contract and did the latest season to say "you just paid us 1 billion for this. You really going to cancel us now?" Guarantee you the next contract won't be signed by Paramount unless Trump is gone and his cronies are no longer in charge of Paramount.

Thats not actually what a libertarian is. That's a more recent phenomena as politics have become divisive. Matt and Trey are old school Libertarian, a belief set based upon near ultimate personal freedom. They trend closer to Republican than Democrat for sure, but differ on some key issues such as marijauna legalization, likely abortion rights, often gay marriage, etc. Imo it's a juvenile belief that amounts to "i should be able to do whatever I want", but they tended to apply that belief evenly

I didn't know if they've shifted any as they've gotten older, but younger them were pretty strongly libertarian.
