This hit him where it hurts: the honor of his sons. LOL JK JK But seriously, the world is better off when this man has 400 Million less in his coffers.
NY times article about this case is saying that ending all his business in NY was originally sought by prosecution, but there were questions about the legal authority to do that. BUT they have assigned an independent government monitor now who will be scrutinizing the business. So if he continues his business as usual (i.e., endless shady bullshit) the punishments can on keeping rolling in. This is a big win. And there are still 57 felonies to go.
With a monitor in place, and fraudulent activities reported even during the trial, many more will occur during the next three years, and totally bring down T. Taking bets on "Truth Social" posts? "Witch Hunt", "Unfair", "Crazed", "Racist", and "I did nothing wrong" are sure bets.
Judge ordered he pay less than was asked and only banned him from being an officer in a business in New York for 3 years (though we all know he’ll continue to do so unofficially). I think the judge held back on his ruling so Trump couldn’t claim the sentence was excessive on appeal. I understand it but I still hate it.
I am honestly really fucking sick of people treating these nutcase poitical cult leaders with kid gloves because "we wouldn't want to give them ammunition now would we". The facts of the situation are entirely irrelevant to what they say about the outcome. Just fucking treat them like any other defendant!

He has often but not always been able to not pay. I think that time has ended for him largely though.
"Can Trump delay payment by appealing the verdicts?
No. In all three cases, he has to put money in an escrow account with the court or get a bond while he’s appealing the verdicts." https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/16/trump-civil-judgments-what-to-know-00142034

With his diet and lifestyle, it very well could be.

Same. At least the fine is substantial, so I guess we'll have to take our little victories wherever we find them.
