My understanding of the French revolution is while ultimately successful ending the monarchy, it was an incredibly dark affair. Many revolutionary leaders were themselves killed off for not being revolutionary enough. It only ended when people got tired of the Reign of Terror, Robespierre was killed, and Napoleon became dictator. There were still decades more upheavals before finally becoming the stable republic it is now. I don't think it's something we really want to intentionally emulate.

Fixing the United States will take decades and be an incredibly dark affair because as history has proved, the masses are content with radical oppression and ridiculousness. No one will be held accountable or punished and if people think things are magically going to get better when/if Trump dies and someone else is president they're hoplessly naive. At this point there's a better chance of alien contact than "draining the swamp", considering how widespread the corruption is.

As shitty as things are, it doesn't seem like enough people feel that they are shitty enough to start a French Revolution style thing. Maybe it's the gains in quality of life of the average citizen we've had since then, maybe it's the propaganda, I couldn't say. I don't think most Americans have a clue about the French Revolution, but I think people know that once the intentional, political, mob based killings start by regular citizens, it's going to get worse, and we're chicken shit about it.

Too civilized? Do you understand how big the United States is? Any kind of revolt would be on the scale of a fucking civil war. This isn’t like another country where we just storm the capital. The military has to back us or they will be the ones called on us and Trump will get what he wants and be able to declare martial law. Maybe think about the logistics. It’s like asking all of Europe to revolt at once. Take away their armor and guns and sure, we have a chance at what you suggest.

As no non nuclear power can stick it to them (China might be able to, but they have the issue of logistics, and the other way around too by the way), the US must rise up against the US to fight against what the US has been from the start, despite successfully gaslighting a whole generation into thinking otherwise back about 70 years ago.
