Trap is an evolution of hip hop using 808s and punchy snares at ~100bpm. Dubstep is made at ~140bpm but is slowed to ~70 and uses 1/?

I was under the impression that trap was made at a faster bpm so the symbol rolls sound right.

Yeah, trap is usually at the same BPM as dubstep.
