It's difficult for some Liberal voters. Trudeau was like "Liberal Bush" - very likeable guy, policies the party liked, but kind of dumb and there's definitely some corruption (SNC Lavilin). Carney is incredibly capable, smart as hell, but he is a bit more right-wing than your typical Liberal Party voter. If a charismatic NDP leader stepped up, they'd steal a lot of Liberal votes.

It's Canada so if it is anything else than hydro I would be extremely surprised. This Nation was blessed with most of the fresh water on the planet, they could triple their population and still power everything with dams. Hydro is the absolutely best form of renewable, it's the only one whose output can be controlled and adjusted.

Depends on the province. First hand experience: someone from Ontario in Alberta talking about "hydro" and those of us in the audience were very confused until someone finally asked why they were talking about water when the subject under discussion was electricity bills.

which I think is a pretty risky move to be honest. We don't know if any of our dams with be the same in 50 years as climate changes roars on, the collapse of AMOC could absolutly demolish any system we rely on based on rainfall, and it might happen much much sooner.

Many of us do think exactly that and have been fighting to get that changed to renewables, but the jackasses in power are bought off by the fossil fuel industry so they have so far kept their stranglehold on the economy. We absolutely need to get Money Out Of Politics.
