My son, a 20 year employee with the FAA, just received this request over the *weekend*…we should be asking WHY and WHAT gives Musk, an unelected, private business owner with for-profit tentacles throughout our government, power to do this?
Yes, there is government waste but giving a butcher’s cleaver to a doctor who is conducting surgery is just madness.
Also today Trump wants to stop killing entire flocks of chickens with bird flu and allow the sale of eggs and chickens which don’t appear ill or dead in order to increase supply. Bird flu in our food supply is another genius idea.
Also, eliminate the IRS and create the ERS - External Revenue Service funded by tariffs and tax our trading partners to do business with the U.S. How about just paying a flat rate of 25% on all income no matter how much you earn including the value on stock options, capital gains and such. We would be fully financed.
Trump, Musk, and his merry band of billionaire, unpatriotic, tax cheaters just want to show that they own the Libs.
I’d say we hold elections in 6 months to replace the president & VP as well as the entire Senate and the House and really start over. All of them are complicit in this shit show and must be fired. Then allow the best candidate for each office to campaign and elected. And no geezer over 60 need apply.

This will be interesting. Company I worked at years ago did something similar. Fired a guy who was the unoffical arbitrator between the customer and the company (not in his job description). The next month was a mess, with the customer (USAF), calling in with issues, and no one with a clue how to deal with them. Guy was back at his desk the month after that.

No way I'd go back to a company that fired me like that without a huge signing bonus paid in full before I put in the even a single minute of work. They already showed that they have no respect for you, want you gone, and most likely only plan on keeping you long enough to train your replacement.

That is a bad idea. For somebody who makes only a little, 25% might put them under the survival threshold, but for somebody who makes a lot (particularly in capital gains), 25% is not much. That's why progressive taxes exist. And if you ask me, the maximum tax should be at 100%. You only have to come to an agreement as a society, which maximum income you want to allow.
