I’ve always wondered how evolution managed to bring these animals about. But it’s a good thing it happened that way; otherwise, the internet would be missing out on some funny videos.
In part because in the wild pandas have no natural predators, and when you have nothing to fear, you have no real need to develop the survival instincts most other animals rely on to not go extinct.
Throw in that they eat bamboo and thus do not need to hunt for their food, that means they have no need to be very conservative with their energy the way for example big cats do, to make sure they can hunt down prey animals.
Some clips might be AI but pandas are absolutely creatures that should not exist due to their goofiness. When Kung Fu Panda (I think the third one?) came out and there was a scene with all the pandas rolling down the hill as an attack method I though it was so silly. Then I saw videos of real life pandas doing the exact same pill bug maneuver.
Bear in mind the ones in these enclosures are also kinda semi-domesticated as they've been living in breeding programs/zoos for generations, and while some get released, they keep the ones that have no chance in the wild as ambassadors to endear pandas to the public.
In real life they are incredibly goofy... I honestly have no idea how they've survived in nature unless their natural predators just find them to entertaining to eat.

Wild giant pandas in their natural enviroment are the very peak of the foodchain, and when you have nothing to fear (Except habitatloss caused by humans) and you also do not hunt for food because all you eat is bamboo.... you can afford to not develop the survival instincts most other animals rely on to survive.
There are no predators in their natural habitats that can get even close to hurting them, much less killing them. In those areas, where they evolved, they are the absolute peak of the food chain.

In short, they can afford to be goofballs because as long as there is bamboo to eat, their needs are covered.

I think panda bears are still bears in that they have sharp claws & strong bites. Most predators'd rather hunt things that can't injure them
