This shit out here in the US has gone bonkers. As a proud veteran and responsible gun owner, it’s plain to see… guns are way too easy to get, keep, and use in the US, and it’s faaaar past time to vastly restrict the guns that citizens can possess.

Fingers crossed, this guy will see years in jail. Guns and idiots don’t mix. Don’t forget to spay and neuter your gun nut family members! It’s the responsible thing to do for a safer tomorrow!

Remember a child was shot at THROUGH the door and killed because he went to the wrong house

Three holes, seven shell casings. I think the neighbours need to check their property.

Republicans will suggest bulletproof pizza boxes before considering anything actually useful

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fucking lunatic. COVID didn't wipe enough of these people out. (I'm assuming a gun obsessed nut who is ready to kill someone the first chance he gets is a Republican)

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

It doesn't even need to be an assumption anymore.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Aggravated assault? Shouldn't this be attempted murder? One of the bullets literally landed right above the driver's side door...a few inches lower and they'd have been mopping this kids head out of the passenger seat.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Please, this is America. Nothing in that clownshow of a country is well regulated

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

32?? I'm 32, that's senile old man behavior, what the fuck is happening?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have seen idiots online defending the shooter saying "well that driver was trespassing". Egad. These guys do not care about facts or the law or anything. They just have hard ons for the idea of shooting someone.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In general, property owners cannot use deadly force to protect property. But property owners may be able to shoot at trespassers in self-defense if they fear great bodily harm or death. “Ermagods! Theyze stealing mah stuff!” Is not reason enough.

This guy is an idiot in so many regards. He was trying to disable the vehicle with a 9mm pistol, shooting at the gas tank and tires. I think he watches too many Michel Bay films and expected the car to explode in a plume of fire or something.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He SAID he was trying to disable the truck. I think that was a lie and that he just missed a bunch.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

More than likely, adrenaline, excitement in general, running and shooting at the same time was likely. I've thought this too long myself but if you want to disable a vehicle in shortest order possible you need a high powered rifle and shooting the engine block. Even then they can still probably go for a couple miles.

+1 for "Don’t forget to spay and neuter your gun nut family members!"

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I can't make any guesses about the delivery driver, but based on the evidence, I'm reasonably certain the shooter is white.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You would be correct. He looks exactly how I thought he would.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sad to have an accurate assumption but dude kinda looks like what I expected him to look like

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All I can ask is WTF is wrong with the USA?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

that moron is definitely itching to use it on anything just for the feeling of power. ten bucks says he is anti-regulation and has called himself a law-abiding citizen

2 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 0

Twenty he gets off scott free too, or a slap on the wrist at best. Probably won't even have to give up his firearms, given that his charge is only aggravated assault instead of attempted murder.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Here I thought people my age would be different than the ones that came before. Trigger happy fool should never own a fire arm ever again.

What a great country. where you can shoot at your neighbour just because you're dumb and afraid..

There are a lot of people out there who believe property is more valuable than life.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Or that just want an excuse to shoot their gun at someone.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Now who could have known that having a very big gun culture mixed with a extremely paranoid population scared by decades of trash media would be a dangerous mix.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Most American citizens actually.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

babycock who is insecure and starts shooting right away? At least his name is accurate.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What's his defense; stand your ground? Family safety so he ran after the truck shooting to "disable it"? Dudes like this belong in prison & all his guns confiscated for good.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"I was trying to disable the truck that wasn't mine but parked in my driveway that tried to leave."

Fox News...likely while drinking!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was… illustrative. 🫥

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

This is the part that constantly gets me. Gun ownership is supposed to inviolate when part of a "well regulated militia." Which means there could, and should, be some damn regulations about who can and can't own a firearm, and under what circumstances, and what kind. I love shooting, love going to the range, love a lot of it, but U.S. gun culture has gone NUTS about reading the first and last phrases in the 2nd amendment and NONE OF THE MIDDLE TEXT.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

From what I understand of the federalist papers, the thinking for the 2A was that the federal government couldn't prevent states from purchasing and arming their militias (since, at the time, the thinking was that there would be no federal armed forces except maybe in DC). Then, of course, the SCOTUS warped it into saying every psycho tom dick and harry can have a gun, and the republicans have been working on making sure any sort of regulation is as weak as possible ever since.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Or any parts of the text of the constitution which actually state what a well-regulated militia actually is.

"I saw him pulling out of my driveway, so I ran at him shooting because I thought he was trying to break in and I was afraid for my life!"/s

"And this is a total injustice? Aggravated assault? I should be getting a parade! A statue! I held the thin red line of pepperoni against all these teenagers performing a job three times as deadly as the police!" -asshole who should have been charged with attempted murder

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Not even that, his affidavit says he thought the kid was trying to break into his /truck/, not even his house. And admitted he thought it looked like they were 'walking away from' his truck before he decided to go out and open fire.

If he gets anything short of an attempted murder charge I'll be kinda surprised.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Attempted murder would never stick. His defense would argue that as he stated he was aiming at the car in an attempt to disable it and successfully hit the vehicle. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, property damage, “unlawful/willful/negligent” discharge of a firearm, that’s my bet. None of this is an excuse for this absolute donkey, of course.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only problem with that defense is you'd have to show your shots were aimed at vehicle disabling points. According to the report his shots largely hit around the cab of the car, with an exceptionally near hit directly at the driver seat even.

Defense would also have to I imagine, likely give justifiable reasons that even "disabling the vehicle" was lawfully warranted, which I can't possibly see them coming up with.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m sorry but the defense would only have to create any suspicion that he didn’t intend to commit murder rather than hit the vehicle. It could be to “disable” or “scare”; I would suspect that even arguing he meant to wound rather than kill would be sufficient. Again, this is literal devil’s advocate. Prosecutors will only make a charge they can win.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"He started leaving and I was like, 'Oh, no! If he leaves, I might not get to murder someone! I need to start shooting before I get all the details'," the assailant said, in front of a pile of bloody USPS mail carrier bags.

No, ED medication.

Is it really all that different from cops who shoot fleeing people in the back -- in self defense?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The story didn't mention it, but I wonder the skin color of the driver and if that had acting to do with it

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You just know that this guy regularly refers to himself as a "responsible gun owner. "

I once chased a woman off my property with a baseball bat. Because it was 3AM and she was trying to unlock my front door. It was creepy as fuck. She was high as giraffe balls and trying to break in. No shots fired. Woman intimidated. Scared away by just waving a bat around and puffing up and yelling a lot. Never happened again. Mission accomplished. JFC put your guns away. You dont need them.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So many people out there straight up terrified of a stranger at their door or in their driveway. If we're lucky they just a waste a 9-1-1 operator's time, if we're unlocky the start shooting. Seems like it's usually boomers but this guy was only 32, so he should be in possession of a healthy, lead-free brain.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

They're not 'terrified' - they have firepower and have a fantasy of using it

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

God yeah, I remember that post from that guy saying he almost shot a kid because they rang his doorbell. Fucking nutjob.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well Fox News has been feeding these people bullshit for decades to make them scared little asshole, and the GOP has been telling them that they should defend themselves with deadly force at the slightly inconvenience and that everyone not in 'their' group is an enemy, and then Trump comes along and tells them all to act on their basest desires--because, after all, if he can skirt justice, anyone can, it just applies to darkies anyway--and here we are.

I’m 33 and was groomed in a very conservative family. Took me years to break free and become my own person. I decided to vote what I feels right which seems now to be what democrats want. Vote blue

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That psycho must keep his gun on or near him at all times just hoping for the chance to get to use it. He's been hoping for it so hard that he just dreamed up something bad happening to give him justification to shoot at a total and innocent stranger. People are fucking sick.

I'm honestly surprised the delivery driver wasn't black, given the attempted murderer's instant escalation to shooting.

I hear you… and all I can think about is the friend living on Howell Mill in ATL that had a pistol on the coffee table… and I was like wtf is that… and him and his 3 roommates were like oh that’s the general purpose pistol to keep assailants out. We had a dude break in last week. And my brother keeping a drug addled person out of his apt in ATL. Not that we should shoot random ppl but… it’s f’ing scary.

Dude's fridge might look like this:

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Yeah, mostly hunting stuff. That's like calling someone out for having a bunch of fishing rods.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You can have my gun after you pry it from my cold, insulated box

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Uh, I'm not convinced their ingredients passed lead inspection...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In fairness, most of those are probably used for hunting. I see mostly shotguns and maybe a rifle or two. Still, weird to turn a fridge into a gun "safe".

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey, it's clever use of an old fridge. I think it's awesome though I'm not a hunter-type so I have no need for guns. I'd probably just fill it with copies of Jurassic Park SNES carts.
