i would cook homemade cheeseburgers made from high quality beef lovingly seasoned, toasted and buttered rolls, caramelized onions, and a slab of Gouda on mine. my wife, however, refused to eat any "cheese" on hers that wasn't Kraft singles. i just, dunno.

I grew up pretty poor, and one of my to-this-day favorite poverty snacks is one of these bad boys wrapped around a dill pickle. Called it a "cheese cannon." Still love it. I'm ashamed of nothing. Good day.

Man I’ve had two slices of bread with a mustard and a slab of American cheese in the middle as a snack. Pickle with cheese (even better with a slice of deli meat around it) is great. Low carb two for you dieters out there.

You can always make that generic claim.
But I would suggest that over-processed and unecessary food products are, more often than not, an American over-simplification and dumbing down of food preparation. Unnatural products like this are much harder to find in many countries where food culture is fresh and traditional.
Can real sliced cheese be as inexpensive and easy to use as Kraft slices? Yes.

Kraft cheese isnt american cheese. There actually is American cheese thats truly cheese. So yes on a smash burger 100% real American cheese.

No American cheese is not cheddar cheese. The reason Kraft American cheese isn't cheese is because it uses oil and not milk. There is actual milk based American cheese. Kraft just ruined the name.

Yes it's not cheddar cheese. But it is real cheese. Kraft American cheese isn't cheese because it doesn't contain that much dairy. It's mostly vegetable oil.
