Since some of the GIFs were cut short during upload of my previous Scrubs post (get it together Imgur!), here are the fixed ones, plus a few legacy bonus clips.

Anyone know if Scrubs is available in HD anywhere? Let me know.

Best TV show ever.

@op, pretty sure it's on Hulu in the States

Dr. Cox sucked. They nullified all of his character development in his last scene with JD. No I won't change my mind

God I hope the revival series is good. Better not be the garbage that was the "last season" at the new hospital, I didn't even make it through that season.

The frustrating thing is that the last season was supposed to be a new show in the same setting but they were made to tack it onto Scrubs for name power purposes

Seasons 1-7 (NBC years) were shot on film that were shot in 16:9 and that can be scaled to HD, but so far have only been released in 4:3 SD. Following the move to ABC season 8 (the last season, nope no more than that) was broadcast in 16:9 HD.

We just gotta hope that someone sees the worth (like they did with Star Trek TOS and TNG) to remaster 1-7 into an HD version. Until then we may have to settle for sympathetic HD upscales.

#1 Holy shit, thank you for this! When I watched Scrubs and this scene came up I realized that Dr. Cox had the same nostrils as me; one regular and one weirdly flattened. But I then I kept watching and forgot what episode it was and couldn't go back to confirm it. But there it is, that one single scene I was looking for.

Did you happen to break your nose when you were younger? :-)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. Just a wonky birth nose.

Just in case anyone else hasn't pointed it out, @OP, no, there are no HD copies of Scrubs. Maybe some AI-enhanced version could be floating out there, but SD on DVD is the best quality commercially available. https://www.reddit.com/r/Scrubs/comments/p4uu90/why_have_they_never_remastered_scrubs_to_hd/?rdt=63355

If you haven't seen it, there was a fun series that was basically retired dr. Cox vs the armies of hell. It was super fun to watch.

This is from Zach Braff Donald Faison’s podcast. The creator, Bill Lawrence, had said they shot the whole thing on film, not digitally, so an HD release is basically never going to happen.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

They just need to hire @BabyFarkMcGeeZax to put the whole series into Intergalactic Quality

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Star Trek TOS and TNG were in the same boat, with the added difficulties of having special effects, but they got an HD remaster. So it's possible, but only if you have the money to do so.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Film is actually nearly infinite in resolution (similar to analog sound recordings), it just takes better digital scanning to get the details out.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Depends on many things. Mainly the quality and Iso of the film.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There is no such thing as "nearly infinite", least of all in film resolution. The limits just *look* different (graininess instead of pixels), but no amount of digital scanning technology is getting you real 4k images out of a 16mm film. If they used 35mm film, that would be enough for 4k, but not 8k.
