Saw them when they toured with Dragonforce many moons ago!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And here I just wore a black tshirt, instead of hatebreed patches! I wish I could’ve rocked a denim vest!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did that for a long time, but hit a point where I couldn’t decide what shirts to wear! Plus no one pays attention to shirts lol

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I approve and would indeed not battle. Nice job!

Daft Punk???? FAKE METAL HEAD!!!! /s

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mwahaha I have infiltrated their ranks with my appreciation of 80’s thrash, hardcore and prog metal to enlighten them to fancy French robots, undersea fry cooks, and tea-bagging!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need to patch mine haha. Got the vest, got 40+ patches, got the thread, just need the motivation hahaha.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

40+? You could just about make an entire vest out of patches!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My goal was to have one patch per band that I've seen live (minus the one I don't really care about haha ). I do have a long sleeve jacket so a bit more space than a sleeveless one hehe.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My motivation was going to a metal festival!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who was your first? Mine was Black label society, Suicide Silence, Korn, Mudvayne, Static-X, Dope and a few more I dont remember, It was back in 2009. Never stop building your battle vest, you're making me want to post mine.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My first metal concert was Dragonforce back in 08’ but Milwaukee Metal fest in 23 was my first festival

I got so much shit for my version of this vest in junior high. I hope times have changed in the... Thirty years since then... Fuck I'm old

Digging the Helloween patch, seriously underrated.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah Evile! They're a lovely bunch, met them once or twice

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While it is quite cool it is most definitely not made of real gorilla chest

1 year ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I bet @OPs loafers aren’t even former gophers!

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

And his hat, not even real vampire bat!

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I bet he's not even wearing white slippers, let alone a pair made from albino African endangered rhino

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Or grizzly bear underwear... Does @op even have their share of turtlenecks??

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Is that a Ken patch?!

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Good eye!

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I dressed up as him for Halloween so spent awhile making the KEN fanny pack. Where'd you get the patch? I have so many vests too!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife got it for me so not sure but maybe Amazon or Etsy

+1 for Daft Punk. A sophisticated metalhead.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good there are so many good bands here

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Love it, @OP! Ashes got a lot of spins from me last year for the 20th anniversary. Legendary album from an amazing band. Have a staff pick Trophy. 🤘

Awwww yeahhhhhhh

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ashes by?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ashes of the wake by Lamb of God!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks I'll check it out

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First impression is great album!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

🤘 sacrament and wrath (the two follow-ups) are also excellent!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Listened to Sacrament, it is great too. It has walk with me in hell, the track that got me onto them.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sick.
At some point Im going to commission a custom back patch for a jacket. Already have the idea just not the skill. Plus def need to get more patches.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was a big fan of death growing up , rip Chuck, you made my favorite music to learn on guitar

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Floods of Triton is such a killer track. I do lean more Mastodon than Lamb of god but still.. respect :)

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sewing, ironing or gluing? I found sewing to be better if I need to rearrange.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I sew, the legendary symbol on the back had glue but it didn’t activate correctly so I just decided to sew everything

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Always sew it. Iron-ons and whatever are lies. Dollar store sewing kit will get you through

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Daft Punk seems a little out of place on this vest...especially seeing the premium location!

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I’m debating moving those somewhere else like on the pockets. The collar always covers the DT patch. But yeah, love me some Daft Punk, just wish I got to see them live

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I appreciate the Daft Punk patch though. Way too many metal fans refuse to listen to any other music, I'm including my teenage self in there before I realized that was dumb. :)
Here's an aussie band that I saw open for Silversun Pickups a few years back, they're about to start their first headline US tour. This whole album has a really dreamy pop feel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7xPYjZSDOk

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have had a whacky musical adventure, I’m mostly into metal, but classic rock, j-pop, house, outlaw country, classical, etc are all in my library. Not a lot of hip-hop admittedly but to each their own!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree...I'm a Prog Rocker from way back. I also get really deep into old school electronic, and Electric Ambient. Goa is recent (last 15 years or so) favorite and Psy/Chill.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love the style of this vest. Where did you get it? I have a bunch of local business patches I want to do something similar with!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wife got the actual vest for me, but folks will, for example, buy denim jackets at goodwill and remove the sleeves

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

COBHC

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't see even a scrap of real gorilla chest.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Buckethead is on tour right now.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw him in Madison WI last year! Was bummed they didn’t have patches for merch

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He plays in town in May, but I have so much work stuff going on that month that I won't be able to see him. I'm kinda bummed about it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe things will work out! Rooting for you!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No Black Flag? I feel like there's always a BF patch or sticker. Sweet collection nonetheless!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, always seems black flag pops up, but what stands out to me on this particular one, are the 2 Halo patches and the Daft Punk patch. Nothing wrong with them of course, just stands out against all the metal bands is all.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not the goofy goober SpongeBob or the Ken lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

oh holy hell! I didnt even see the goofy goober one until you mentioned it!

One of my top five albums

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just saw them in Chicago a few weeks ago! Mike and John were mesmerizing!

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is James' voice still better on CD than live? I saw them almost 20 years ago and they were amazing. Whole encore was "A Change of Seasons"

Familiar with Liquid Tension Experiment, too?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The guy isn't 30 any more I can tell you that much.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the way I'd put it is that he was noticeably taking notes lower in some songs in order to save himself for specific high notes that he REALLY wanted to hit. He really went for it at the climax of Octavarium.
I think on this latest album they did a much better job of writing vocal parts that aren't strenuous for him to replicate live. Midnight Messiah was practically identical.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

James did a lot of damage to his larynx years ago, but he's recovered as well as could be expected. I wouldn't expect him to get the high f# in Learning to Live though

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Considering he only sings for all of 20 minutes for a 2 hour set ;) Octavarium was awesome though! Six Degress of Inner Turbulence and Octavarium are my go to albums

Aren’t they touring with them for the next leg of the 40th anniversary tour? I’ll add it to the list!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Octavarium is a masterpiece. So many good songs! In fact I was eyeing a Jp-15 today, necks are a touch too skinny but they’re so sick

I stopped listening to their new stuff when they switched from Mike on drums to Mike. Not intentionally, it just happened. Now that Mike is out and Mike is back in, I might have to dig into the mix!

Also I’m met mine manginis nephew at guitar center one time lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was introduced to them much earlier. A Change of Seasons and Scenes from a Memory are my go-tos.

LTE is a side project by Portnoy, Petruxxi, Rudess, and Tony Levin. All instrumental prog rock jam sessions. Beautiful.

I love this live version of Universal Mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd5PjqWKA00

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice! How did you pick your patches? My vest is all bands i've seen live.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven’t seen Children of Bodom, Death (the OG lineup), Annihilator, Rage against the Machine or Daft Punk live, and I’m seeing Arch Enemy for the first time in a few months. I pick bands that I listen to and enjoy!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a totally valid way to go. There's not really a wrong way.
