They have different kinds. I bought one that was black literally and it was disgusting. Not only a dumb amount of spicy, also tasted like charcoal. Too scarred by that experience so I stick with original and verde Cholula now.
I asked a waiter at my local Mexican place if there's even a difference between red and green and he said no. The ingredients are practically identical. I still opt for the red one for whatever reason.
Man now I want cheap Mexican and a giant margarita made with bottom shelf tequila.
I think the green one is supposed to be a jalapeño sauce compared to the red being habanero, but they’re similar enough that it comes down to personal preference. I like putting the green on chicken dishes myself.

I buy El Yucatero five bottles at a time. It's outstanding in soup.

I've actually tried it visiting a friend down in Florida. Seemed too much of an extract taste for me but but the soy flavor did help.

El Y isn’t even that bad, it’s on the table like ketchup next to the green one at every good hole in the wall Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to

Same reason I like Cholula, not all of us want to chemically invert our assholes.

Chili garlic Cholula is like nectar of the gods.

I like to opt for the green one for no reason as well.

Are you sure the red isn’t just red chilies? I think jalapeños turn red when they ripen - am I making them up
SidonisAntares
Well the label on that bottle in #1 says “chile habanero” right there up front so 🤷♂️
