Which, btw, is what's gonna happen to the case after they vote to release the files. Bondi, who has said there's nothing to see will suddenly see stuff that requires them to open an investigation...so they can then claim they'd like to release but "it's under investigation."

The case was active during almost the entire Biden administration, Maxwell wasn't convicted until the 2024 election cycle was in full swing, the earliest they could have released would have been about a month before the election, and it would have been called as election interference or some shit.

Only one party is playing by the rules. The current admin is sicking the DoJ on California's redistricting even though they held a vote to allow it, unlike Texas.
Even if SCOTUS decides "only for thee, and not for me", they should pull an Ohio and ignore their ruling and use the redrawn districts anyways.
Biden tried his damnedest to return us to some semblance of normal. At this point I feel normal is long gone; this is the new normal, and it absolutely sucks.

Another reason is that the investigation covered tons of personal information for victims and doesn't contain sufficient incriminating evidence so there was no legal reason to make it public other than to destroy reputations.
