I don't have any memes, but I do have a recommendation: get a very long phone charge cable for him. Check whether any other devices he'll want, like a laptop, have a nice long cable as well. Not having to lean over the edge of the bed and fiddle around is a really good thing after any surgery, but especially ones that involve the general chest area.

I downloaded a bunch of audio books from the library website to listen to during my recovery. I dozed in and out of sleep while books played and it was great. I was never board.

I'm 3 years post op and it was the best decision ever. I was getting tattoos where my nips would be (I didn't keep them) and my tattoo guy (also trans) immediately guessed who my surgeon was. Blew my mind, haha. Wild coincidence we had the same surgeon.
Note: Getting chest tats is ouchie, even 3 days later haha

It's when someone who has breasts but doesn't want them, usually a trans man, gets said breasts surgically removed. It's a really big quality-of-life improvement for the people who seek it out, but it does tend to have a fairly long recovery time due to involving a relatively large area that crosses a good chunk of major muscle groups.

@op, my son's top surgery was 2 years ago now. He's never been happier. His aunt got him these armpit pillows for the recovery. Very recommended.

No. I'm 95% sure she got them from Etsy. There are a ton of great ones there. These were heart-shaped for under the arm.

Oh! I thought you were meaning to post a link. I make them for breast cancer patients but it never dawned on me they'd be good for other breast surgeries (I donate them as long as the person pays shipping, I wasn't trying to advertise 🩵)

careful about this scar. not everyone who has it has had top surgery. i have a scar like that but it's from a new access for open heart surgery. an alternate to having the sternum cut in half and having to heal.

yes, that's the reason Jesus carries that scar but he's a bit of a special case. however, people should be careful about making blanket judgments about things like these scars. there are other reasons why someone might have such a scar that have nothing to do with the perceived only reason for there being a scar like that. if it were proper top surgery the subject would likely have two, one on each side. i have only one on the right but to some that would still make me trans. they'd be idiots.
