I'm not sure, but I'm going to guess sourdough starter

Yeah, I don't know them kids

I'm starting to think some of these were pilfered out of a Muppets dump

Anyone else miss when you could assume something was said ironically?

Yeah, a Muppets dump was definitely involved here.

You got to listen to the heart, listen to the beat. Listen to the rhythm, the rhythm of the street.

In their defense they had already named the meatball, the bumper, the hard hat, ice cream scoops, foot rests, leg warmers, hand warmers, ice makers, soup bowls, and sun hats. Busy day.

#20 as someone who has consistently lived out of clothes baskets for many years, and just now trying to change my way… this is perfection!

#5 I always say I've got enough problems in my life without a 12 year old calling me a fa**ot.

#4 look, they're not doing it to see whether or not it'd hold up in battle, but to see whether its meant for display only or can be used for cosplay. I've got one sword that's so badly made it rattles when its moved. It looks neat on a wall, but would be terrible as part of a costume. I have another that's soldily constructed and great for wearing.

#4 "I'm sorry, but we only want _serious_ people to purchase our plastic copies of the buster sword. Those who want to goof off and imagine themselves wielding a sword that's bigger than they are we shall show the door."

Good idea! They can test the sharpness of the toy swords on the door.

#5 I'm Gen X and have felt this way since, well, probably since I was a Millenial's current age. Not to mention, online gaming is generally so toxic and repetitive now. Give me the good old days circa 2005 when it was all new and exciting.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#5 Same.... I don't need to listen to some toxic rando. Used to be able to join user curated and moderated game servers and user modded games and find like minded considerate folks. But noooo business daddies weren't making enough money for yachts with helicopters that way ... So here we are.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Unreal 2004 was the peak of this. The amount of fan mods like the RPG guns was amazing. I miss those days.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Half Life-based and Source games were also really good for this.

#25 Reminds me of the tweet/post that was like:
“I hate that SEPTember, OCTober, NOVember aren’t the 7th, 8th & 9th months. Whoever fucked this is should be stabbed.”

Good news!!

I'm an ESL teacher. We have an inside joke on my groups which is "from the creators of watermelon" which I use every time we come across a very descriptive English word such as fireplace or waterfall

#12: Thomas bowdler was a guy the turn of the 19th century who published versions of shakespeare with the naughty language removed, birthing the term "bowdlerize" for that type of censorship. These books are still available. There is constant debate on whether this should continue, with arguments now being around removing racist/sexist passages from older books. I once read a version of "oliver twist" in school with the antisemitism removed. Boy, was i surprised when i finally read the original.

I used to have a collection of Andrew Lang fairy tales, which turned out to mostly be sanitized versions of other people's tales, including Grimm's. Boy, was I surprised to find out that Grimm's tales were the cleaned up versions of the ones they were actually telling.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My book club did 'Grimm's Grimmest', which is an anthology of tales told in the original form. Really wild. We had lots of fun with it.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do not not think we should censor them. I'm in favor of the WB method of just putting a disclaimer at the front warning people and then just let them watch it. History is what it is.

#3 It would be interesting if there has ever been a CO2 suffocation from working inside a huge bakery operation.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's hard to miss when a room has too much CO2. I worked for a brewer that referred to it as "spicy air" and said he knew the mix was right when he held the breather hose to his face if it made his knees weak

I used to attend conventions back in late 90s and early 2000s. There was always cringe but they ignored it because you had money.

Full Gen X, but i usually don't play against other people because i suck

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Gen X here. Fuck other people. I'm too old for their shit. Competitive, at least. I'll do coop.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used to be extremely competitive. I was the type of player that could join an Unreal 2004 Onslaught match at our core and turn it around! That said though it also made me a jackass. I was not really kind when trying hard. So I stopped playing that way and stopped playing pvp games. It was better for my health. Being good wasn't worth the cost.

Would you refer to Ringo Starr's hit song Yesterday?

Ringo Starr, famous singer of The Rolling Kennedys, most known for their famous hit song The Great Yellow Submarine In The Sky On The Water? Love him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkR81t3lp-M

No one respected him
They just rejected him
No one would represent Kage
Left on the streets of his dreams
He would cry and he'd rage
For the stage

#13 name a Shakespeare play that doesn't. I'm pretty sure there's at least one dick joke in every one of them and at least one per scene in a few.

We were reading scenes from Hamlet in my AP English class in the 90s… Our teacher saw my eyes light up and mouthed to me while the rest of the class heads were bowed reading the script, "don't you dare..."

Hamlet: Lady, shall I lie in your lap?
Ophelia: No, my lord.
Hamlet: I mean, my head upon your lap?
Ophelia: Ay, my lord.
Hamlet: Do you think I meant COUNTRY matters?
Ophelia: I think nothing, my lord.
Hamlet: That’s a fair thought to lie between maids’ legs.
