Date had cancelled dinner with me over the weekend so I made the best of it with a bottle of scotch and some Alfredo. Cheers to everyone. Here was the original post. https://imgur.com/gallery/tbb3e

That's not nearly enough.

Spaghetti and grape drink

Not grape. That's scotch.

MY FAVORITES!

That doesn't go together. Needs white wine. Drink whisky later.

Looks like nice alfredo - I recommend roasted, halved, cherry/grape tomatoes in there too - it gives it a great bit of red on the plate.

+!

While you're at it, might as well sautee some spinach and mushrooms! Now you've got a super colorful plate.

Also, sprinkles.

Better suggestion.. have a knife and fork available...?

I go for sun-dried tomatoes myself. Sometimes I'll get a little pesto in there, too.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd throw in some pesto too... Do we kiss now?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No pesto with alfredo. That's just silly.

I think traditionally, we share a plate of pasta and see where the noodles take us.

I'd eat one bite, down the bottle and then take advantage of myself.

I would never cancel on someone who has that great of taste in whisky

Lagavulin 16 year top choice old sport @op it's got quite the aroma!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah really good! I tried it when I went to a party once and I've been craving it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As an Italian, I can confirm that's a good serving for HALF A BABY.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do this often - just without the pasta, plate or glass.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 for classy Lagavulin choice

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lagavulin, good choice. Nice smoky peetieness

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hopefully not the entire bottle? Unless there's a lot more pasta you aren't showing us...

Didn't really work. Ate the pasta and then finished the drink.

I find that whiskey rarely goes with food. It goes well before food, and is great after food. But it doesn't pair with much.

Steak

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Seems whiskey goes well with cold smoked stake, as whiskey itself is already smokey.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whisky is smokey, whiskey mostly is not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't that the same thing? O_o

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whiskey with an "e" refers to Irish (and US), without an "e" is Scotch (and Japan and Canada). Scotch whisky is smokey, Irish whiskey is not

peaty islay whisky goes great with strong blue cheese. I'd recommend having scottish oatcakes and a proper English Stilton

I will definitely try this

Lagavulin Whiskey?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No my dear, whiskey is drink after meals... It's a nightcap.
