#1 really? a sign like this, after decades of judging millions of people in "the court of public opinion"? lives destroyed and people ruined because they spoke their mind? ... you should have demanded due process decades ago ... because you were the ones who removed due process and free speech ... either everybody is free & has constitutional rights ... or nobody is/has ... you reap the storm of the wind you have sown
I keep thinking of this scene in light of recent events, and that top sign yet again made me thing of it so now I'm inflicting old movie clips on you all. https://youtu.be/NUqytjlHNIM
Really trying not to be defeatist, seriously asking: What does this achieve?
Trump, and all Republicans really, have never seemed to give one single fuck about what the public wants, outside of lying to their base about how being Nazis will help them somehow.
And it's not like their base are mentally capable of learning, otherwise there wouldn't BE a Republican base outside of people who actively want to cause economic crashes.
So, can someone please tell me this achieves something good?
Right now, it keeps a certain amount of morale, helps people remain organized, build contacts etc. If they're going to need to raise an actual resistance later, these are the first steps to building a network. Do you think all of these people just pretend they've never met after each protest?
If you are GOP representative in one of these states running for reelection you might start thinking about impeaching that douchbag if you were on the fence before. If you were a DeM and in office you start growing a set of balls and see that the tide is turning. It will encourage Blues to run in states that were Red or purple.

The fight matters, even if you can't see a victory. You can always fight to lose less.
