Concealed carrying is allowed (and often encouraged) in gun stores. So yes, they do feel safe with a few good guys with guns. The case rule is so that staff knows that the customer is there to use the range or sell their gun instead of trying to rob the place. It serves a safety purpose too because it's almost impossible to carry an uncased firearm through the building and into the range without accidentally pointing it at someone.

Wiki is listing 300k atm. State Farm Stadium is max 63k to 78k (standing room) with 14k parking spaces on site, and they were supposed to have turned overflow to Desert Diamond Arena which is another 19k max capacity. So with cycling and people just hanging around outside, I could see it being that high. As you noted though, right likes to exaggerate.
