Kansas City MO today. The guy is standing there telling the police not to use excessive force. I'm pretty sure that's legal. So they use excessive force to arrest this guy peacefully standing on the curb.

Some people in the comments are saying this was Sunday, if so I am sorry it showed up on a reporter's twitter that I follow today with no date.

These are professional police. Emphasis on "professional". No wonder there's police brutality, bunch of highschool bullies running the show.

Aaaaaannnd that's how you get a riot.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

He literally said they overreact in the moment... then they overreact.

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

I know this is minor compared to all the other reasons they shouldn’t do this, but: why give in to the taunting like that?

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

because those cops are stupid, scared, and poorly trained.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stinking pieces of shit. Out of order and unnecessary. Cowards.

More cowards downvoted this too. Losers.

Perfect example of why people are pissed. Get that video, sue the police. Damn cowards pepper spraying. We need police 2.0

police 3.0 ?

I'm curious. Are these those "good" cops I keep hearing so much about?

That one might be that looters made it into the store and got stuck so the owner called the police their himself. I say might because 1/

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ the only evidence I've seen of that is a screenshot of an instagram post where the owner replied to a question about the police 2/

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3/ breaking into the store. But when I went to the instagram itself that reply isn't actually there. So it might have been deleted or 3/

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4/ I might be unable to see it for some other reason.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Threatening isnt protacted by first amendment

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Don't waste my time being silly. It is clear in that footage that he was not a threat to those officers.

I'll be honest, that man kept his composure mich longer than I could. Props to him

Having family in the armed forces...dude could literally fall asleep listening to that petulant child try to bitch him out. Mad respect 1/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To anyone who is willing to learn this kind of restraint. I don’t envy the process...but yeah...soldier is probably thinking about dinner

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Plus... The one who controls the army is the one who wants to dominate and use aggressive tactics in protestors.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Marines wouldn’t do that. Marine and navy fighter pilots put their aircraft out and way from civies when crashing. Go down with aricraft if

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... necessary. Army, airforce, they just bail. Pull the eject and let what happens happen. Never disrespect the Corp. those men die for us

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in for 6 years.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t think marines would do that.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I spent 6 years in the Marines. Most would do that...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know you’re saying that tongue in cheek. You’d shoot the clowns with the guns first, and the rest would scurry while you’re doing that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seconded. Military shows extreme restraint under RoEs unlike the police. If mil acted like the police do, we'd have killed way more ppl

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I remember talking to friends in the marines who’d been in the shit about all the training they got on sit-aware de-esc, community work...

Not that it makes a diff, but we need to make sure what we post is accurate. Way too many things going around spreading false narratives

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Where the fuck are the mayors? Who are the police really answering to?

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

Asking the right question!!! Now ask why this happens in mostly democratically ran municipalities. That answers would be good.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

KCPD is run by the state not the city due to Tom Pendergast corruption with police in the 1920’s and 30’s

He -just- told cops this wasn’t acceptable and he’s getting rid of curfews & not allowing cops to come unless called today. After they

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

blinded a man and gassed children.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Mayor Lucas did?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Too little, too fraking late. Should have happened days ago.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its frustrating to watch everyone act so slow.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, Mayor Lucas has been consistently making changes and siding with protestors. not really a surprise he told PD to back off.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It took him WAY too long to make them stop wholly.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that legal? Seriously can the police in the US just grab someone off the side of the road, mace everyone nearby, and "arrest" him?

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Well, when ur yelling threatening word and pushing towards inciting, yes its legal. You all say words are weapons and hurtful right?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

How was what he said inciting anything? Condeming, sure, but at what point did he in any way threaten those officers?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably right before the clip started. See how he was already saying the would come after him? We dont know. This is why i hate 10 secclips

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, because the entire system; police, courts, city, county, judges, prosecutors are never going to punish a Police Officer 99% of the time

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Could the guy sue?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

[deleted]

[deleted]

6 years ago (deleted Jun 4, 2020 11:11 AM) | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

They maced them because the girl tried to prevent them from arresting the guy and he also tried to resist. Doesn’t make what happened right

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

But if they are trying to detain you just let them. struggling will result in what we just saw refuse to talk without a lawyer and let them

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Handle it and possibly sue for unlawful arrest. Plenty of evidence here to prove it.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The resisting and the current situation 100% justified the mace to prevent escalation. Let them take you and sue for wrongful arrest later.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NO ONE comes out on top by resisting arrest. Ever. Why don’t people understand this? It literally causes half of the problems we are seeing.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aren't there plenty of looters to pepper spray and arrest? Why is the force directed here?

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

BC it's easy

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Because they're Fascist.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i don't think there really are that many looters. i doesn't take 1000 people to smash some glass and start fires

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm....you probably right.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to say racism, but, would say more blue vs everyone else (due to the black officer) . As well as classism and economic status.

6 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 4

Right, the only black officer in the world, cause you can only say racism if its full white cops. But you can since no black cops get heat

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It's not racism, it's fascism.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No it is racism. It’s not racist in the fact it’s white officer and black person. But rather AAs are disproportionately policed

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 12

Racism is nestled somewhere in there too. It at least helps shape and direct the other two and vice versa. Things can have multitudes.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They'll go off on anyone they don't like the look of. Black men are at the top of the list of who they don't like the look of because of 1/

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ racism, but anyone publicly criticizing brutality is a target right now.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ages ago read how Black cops are equal or more likely to cross the line as white officers. Theory is it's an attempt to prove loyalties.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could also just be a problem with police conditioning. As in, who you're taught to be afraid of and react to with extreme prejudice.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very well could. I wish I could remember the details... I just really remember being struck by the info.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s not surprising the cops are protecting The Plaza, one of the most rich-white-racist-asshole areas in KC metro. Hate going down there.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 8

Gotta protect the cheesecake factory.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My dream is for people in this country to one day have the freedom of speech…Perhaps even amend it into the constitution if at all possible?

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

You all say words are weapons and then say "he was only yelling" when he hes held accountable. Either are weapons or they arent.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Idk if this is sarcasm or not.. thank god the mayor banned them from doing shit unless called. Let’s see how long that lasts.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That emoji sets the tone of sarcasm, as I see it.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

See, I wasn’t quite sure. I’m Sheldon Cooper unless I’m dishing out sarcasm, I have a hard time understanding it. And in this day and age

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you can’t ever tell anymore.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

we were making progress too... Mayor Lucas has been doing great, but officers like this are undoing all of it
