For an extra (arguably unnecessary) step, you could mold the face, then make a cast from the mold, and paint the cast.
There's a part of the myth that argues that vampires have no reflection in mirrors because of the involvement of silver in the reflection - and by the same token vampires wouldn't show up on photographic film, as film uses silver as well.
Of course, these days film photography is the exception, and mirrors are not necessarily backed with silver (aluminum is common).
