So, in case you are wondering, even if he were to die it wouldn't matter for the Senate because KY changed their rules to not allow their governor to choose a replacement. Now all they can do is have a special election. So even more dumb that they just won't reveal what his actual condition is.

Nope. This is actually the third system KY has had since Bashear became governor. So even if somehow this system would be shot down (unlikely), it would go back to the system it first changed to in which the party of the elected official world select 3 candidates for the governor to choose from.
