Made a Guardians Orb for my son.

So he's a huge Guardians fan, and I put this together for his birthday. A big bag of 3D printed parts, sooo much prep work with getting the gaps free of material, the usual process of filling, sanding (lots and lots of sanding) refilling and more sanding. Then begins the painting and finishing process. The rim of the Orb has tiny neodymium magnets hidden in place to hold it all together nicely and lined up correctly. In hindsight I should have taken pics throughout the make (sorry, will do next time).

This was the tough part, I really wanted it to be handleable (is that a word?) and the infinity stone had to come out and look like a stone. So I hid batteries and wiring inside one half of the Orb, with more magnets holding the inner gold parts of the Orb in place. They also allowed me to craft electric contacts which both hold the stone in the correct place to allow the current to light up the stone when it's in the correct half. I used a bicycle valve light taken apart and fitted inside with a bit of jiggery pokery. Believe me- soldering to magnets is not as easy as it looks.
